Ok, thanks. So, what is used to attach the Rubicon front clip to the Digger body? Glue, or something else? It looks like a perfect match unless you had to fill it in with something.
I used a gravedigger body and i wanted a willys front end but no one made this. So i searched for a jeep front clip and found the hpi rubicon. I choose this because it was wider so insted of filling the gaps to make it look seamless i could trim down the body.
I left the front hood of gravedigger but removed the fenders and lights. I wanted some support so this is the best way to do so. I then cut the front clip off the rubicon and marked center and cut it in half down the hood. I then tapered the hood so it was narrower in the grille and looked close to the real truck.
I then painted the digger body and the jeep front hood black. I allowed them to dry then shoe gooed the clip to the digger body.
Its good but not great. I tried to find someone to mold the body but no one wanted to and i was not going to wait any longer.
I have to admit when i started the project i was nervous about cutting up two $45 bodies (in hopes) it works.
Thanks for the reply on that, ya, I would be a little skeptical about cutting up good bodies too, but it turned out great! I can also see the BST section now, so it must be less than 60 posts.
