My 500 pick is Kevin Harvick in the #29 American Chevy

For Busch I mean Nationwide I'll take Tony Stewart

For the trucks when ever that race goes on I'll pick Ron Hornaday

For the 500 I am going with Stewart and for the Nationwide Cup, I will go with Carl Edwards.

I haven't watched nascar in over a year. I somehow lost interest after Jr. started sucking so bad. I didn't want to jump fence and start liking another driver...I decided to quit watching altogether. I just visited nascars website today and see that he still hasn't won a race in the Sprint cup but I think I'll pick him anyway and I WILL BE WATCHING!

My 500 pick would have to be Jeff Gordon.:tmb

But more than likely Chad Knaus will wave his magic wand and Jimmie Johnson will win.:willy

Mark Martin all the way! :tmb I hope jimmy's motor stalls on the first lap.. haha!

Jr. is in some sort of slum... I did hear that they are going to allow bump drafting amongst other things... so racing should be a little more eventful than it was the second half of the season last year.. thank gawd!

I'm picking Carl Edwards for the Saturday night race :)

I'm going with Kasey Kahne; the RPM Fords seem like really competative. I can't believe that I am rooting for a Ford.

Tony Stewart in the Nationwide Race.

I'll be pulling for Tony in the 500.
In the Nationwide race I would just like to see a non-Sprint driver win it.

Well, I was talked into a Daytona 500 pool (for fun...of course!) at work and I ended up with Marcos Ambrose, so I guess I'm pulling for him to end up either 1st, 2nd, or 43rd. :tmb

As a bonus maybe his Toyota's brakes will stop working and/or his accelerator pedal will stick and he'll win. :laugh

Yeah that was a really bonehead move for Carl. Now I have a Carl Edwards license plate on the front of my car, I root for him, but that was stupid. Tore up a lot of cars.

Tony Chewbaka won the crash fest Busch race, Harvick pulled a nice move there at the end to grab a 3rd place spot. KHI cars take a #1 and #3 this race, and a win 5 times in 6 years. That has to have that shop feeling some pride. :kudo

So tonight they'll run the rained out trucks and the KHI Hornaday truck is still my pick. :tmb

On a side note:
Anyone see the Tony Stewart Q&A with the press where he was asked if he thought the new car was too safe causing ratings to decline? Man, his answer was priceless. He practicaly called the reporter a IDIOT. I love it, press room is to safe lets cut some legs off the chairs what do you think of that?

I think I'm going to e-mail him and tell him the press moron question of the year award needs to be a 1 legged chair.

what, isn't anybody pulling for danica patrick?

is nascar hurting so bad they have to put her in a car to get ratings?

Nascar really needs to get back to its roots and just let these guys race. Nascar now has become nothing but politics and a media circus. I miss the old days.

Actually they've loosened the rules.
Bump drafting is back too.
Penalties removed for a few things so that ''racers can be racers'' and driver personality can show. Can't wait to see Tony Stewart get pissed off a few times this year. I really like how quick witted he can be with the press. :)

as with anything good (football, nascar, rasslin), when it becomes popular, money comes into play. when money comes along, well, the game (whatever it is) goes from being about doing it for the love of the game to doing it for money.

of course we all like good ol boy stuff like cale yaborough and bobby allison fighting in the infield. problem is, sponsors don't. maybe they need different sponsors.

Looks like the hole in the track is winning this race. I might just have to tune into the Olympics if that track fixing last much longer.
