World Finals final run without Captain's Curse?

Just finished watching the World Finals show on Speed and found it very strange that they completely (I mean not so much as a mention) of the Captain's Curse crash in the final. I realize it was a bad year but don't think I agree with them editing it out completely. They didnt seem to have an issue showing Adam Anderson's crash that happened prior to Thunder Alley, and he got banged up, but I guess because the other ended up upside down in the stands it was taboo!?! Not trying to start a arguement just looking for others thoughts? Thanks.

No doubt! Absolute driver finesse. I think it would be way cool to see Travis Pastrana run on a regular basis!! Guy is a nut and would definately bring a top level of excitement with him.

I had made a similar comment when it was on CBS a few weeks back. They clipped the crash out, never mentioned it and focused on MD only. So even if you didn't know about the crash it would seem odd a truck just :poof disapearing.

I am glad that I am not the only one wondering what the ?????. They could at least of let us know if he is ok. Even though his last name is not Anderson.

They clipped the footage out because of the two accidents earlier this year. I personally believe they should have shown the footage. If anybody noticed they also blocked Dennis's rear wheels going onto the stands, as well as the end of Travis Pastrana's rollover. Cutting to the in-cab shot.

By showing the footage they would have proven the fact that their saftey holds did their job. Hiding it only makes everything look terrible. The editing job was horrible. Within 15 minutes of the brodcast someone uploaded the final round race to youtube, then linked the Curse wreck to the video. The footage of Alex's wreck has already been seen by 33,000 or so people so why in the world would you block it out.

I believe they should have shown it but personally, i know exactly why they didn't. I just wish the editing job was a lil better. They coulda done alot more to edit that up if they were trying to cover it up. They didn't even have an explination for what happened to Alex in the other lane. Didn't make much sence to me really.

If you watch closely, you can see Captain's Curse go into the stands through the in cab view from Max D. I would never have noticed it if I hadn't known that it happened...

Josh I completely agree with what you said. I think it would have bode far better for them if they had shown the footage and then talked about all the safety aspects that go into the events (ie: the fact those rows were clear of fans to begin with). Put a positive light on it and capture the fact nobody was hurt and turn it into something that helps the sport. Lets face it, alot of people who watch the NASCAR super speedway races do it cause of the hype over "the big one".

Just seems like they are trying to hide it. It is a disservice to the driver as well, just not impressed with this move at all. I do understand why but just think there was a better way to go about it.

Thanks for the discussion fellas, glad to see I wasn't the only one left kind of scratching my head why they did the Bermuda Triangle thing to Cpt's Curse!

I thought I saw it... it just seemed blurry even on 1080p, almost like they were trying to hide it.

i assume you mean george balhan . . . . . he drives for feld entertainment (parent company of monster jam) and he pretty much wins nothing cuz he stinks lol. ok, maybe i'm a little against him, but he gets hyped up way more than he deserves.

He's king of the Slap Wheelie though. His truck is set up more for freestyle than racing.

Yeah, not my favorite either. The whole mohawk, "blinged" out Escalade just isn't a look or style I am crazy about.

I just thought he was trying to be the punk rich kid... I was trying to figure out how he raced without a sponsor.

George is one of the best guys to BS with behind the scenes. The couch they have out infront of Escalade before the pit parties is extremly comfortable to. Almost fell asleep on it once. Then he fired the truck and well. . .ruined my nap. :bang haha. Seriously though, one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Heck of a driver to.

How many monster jam owned trucks do you see with sponsorship all over them??
You can count them on one hand.., and maybe have fingers left...

Yes you may see some permacool and lincoln, and accel, or msd, on the lexan side shields.. but having Feld own all the trucks , you don't need alot of "annouched" sponsors...

Let's see, there's Blue Thunder, Safe Suto, Batman, Superman, Donkey Kong, Taz, Air Force Afterburner, and Pastrana 199/Nitro Circus.

Blue Thunder, Safe Auto, and Air Force are the three of those that would most closely resemble "typical" corporate sponsorships though. Ball is right that here are a bunch of smaller sponsors that are listed on the lexan chassis panels though.

Oh, and escalade doesn't even run the lexan sheet sponsors either.

3 D bodies to "me" are not a symbol of sponsors,

More like a chance you may have to pay Warner Brothers or dysney or someone for the use of the likeness..(that would be my luck)
Like taz, is there a new movie being released or something that they wanted to promote?
Same with the ninja turtle truck, and batman, and superman...
Yeah, there was a newer batman movie released, but I don't remeber the truck debuting it, or anything mentioned with it..
Ninja, kong, and taz are just 20-50 year old cartoon characters,
not sure they pay out much money to be on a truck,
unless you buy a dvd or have the boomerang cartoon network a kid will never see the "taz" the truck was made from..

"I" consider written banners or slogans on a truck as "carrying" corporate sponsors.

And travis pastrana's truck, he is now carrying nitro circus- his show, but
does Feld own the chassis, and name rights of him?
Or is it still independent??

Nitro Circus/P199 is considered a no money sponsorship. I personally don't know why, but Pastrana doesn't pay to have his name or likeness on that truck.
