Are you running stock motor?
Just a thought- It may be do to the torque twist of the chassis. As your truck is starting to wheely, the chassis twist may load one tire more than the other. With your diff locked, the power is not going to the unloaded side of the truck (which would even out the power between sides).

I got a bunch of torque twist when I took the x-brace off of my WK, even before I upgraded the motor. Now I have stiff black springs on the rear that I got from WillG. They're bigger in diameter so I had to use some pliers and make the end small enough to fit the spring cup. I still get some twist but it's not as bad.
it is all four linked front and back and it has a 17 turn speed demon motor it dosnt have the x brace anymore i will post a few pics of it its TurnMeOver's old wk i really want to go brushless it already has hardend steel tranny gears and axle gears but i have to sell my losi mini rock crawler or trade it for a nice setup i want it to smoke a savage x

stiffen the right rear spring.
Without the X brace the chassis twists from the torque twisting the big tires. Just like a real car or truck with a driveshaft and solid axle.

I don't know why it does that. I bought a WK from Inked and it had a locker in the rear. It would wheelie just fine for 10 feet or so, then it would spin out to one side and flip. I thought mine did it because the locker was stressing the flimsy stock rear steering lockout but I see you're not running that so there goes that theory.
