WK Chassis Templates

I'm in the process of turning my WK 'scaler' back into a monster. I am going for a 12.5 to 13 inch wheelbase. I was going to use Savage or T-Maxx shocks and the stock chassis but it's not turning out so well. Either it's way too high with extreme drive shaft angles using the Savage shocks, or there is no common way to mount the Maxx shocks front and rear where there is enough articulation and the axle mounted servo doesn't hit the chassis. I think that the stock chassis is limiting what I can do to it. Does anyone happen to have a template for a halfway decent chassis setup that they would be willing to share?

Send Thundertech racing an email, I bet with a little asking you could get them to cut 1 of the chassis I used for my build or the revised version. :tmb

i have made one from the stock chassis template but out of sheet aluminum insteadand since the ends being so long shortened the entire thing by 2 inches per side and add holes to mount your shocks lower. it took me 2 weeks to make, ill get photos of it up as soon as i get my digicam fixed.

its not on anything yet. but hopefully be on my #1 WK in the weeks after new years. just dont have the time to take everything apart

How much did that cost you?
Im not allowed to say... I did all the design work on it and have been pushing them to produce a version of it. I would imagine, they would prolly cut you a version for about fairly cheaply but, I could be wrong... you would need to ask them to be sure. I dont want to throw out a price and be completly off base.

Would you mind if I used your design as a base to fabricate my own chassis?

feel free to use the idea... I can give you some measurements if you need. If I was you, I would download a cad program like solidedge. Its free and easy to use, it will make it allot easier than hand drawing.
