Had asked about this after making the jump to 7 sometime back and the answer was you have to open gifs in IE blah how lame! So searching just now I found these forums and a smart geek guy made this program that allows you now open them like normal like double click to open and view it, just follow the instructions and it does work.

The gif's I have saved on my computer open in IE with a double-click. I think they still work even if I don't have internet connection... not sure tho.

Reading that thread they say MS screwed up and its why they dont work properly, this little program works good tho I just didnt wanna open IE everytime :willy

I love win 7 compared to vista and even xp. If you have an issue, chances are you can google it and find a solution to whatever problem it may be. I was trying to play an older game that wouldn't work on my new system. looked for a patch/plugin to allow it to work, downloaded it, now it works. There's always a program out there allowing older technology to mesh with the new stuff, just gotta search for it.
