Widener for kongs recommendation?

I need some wideners for a project using kongs on txt axles. So far I've found the thundertech set (delrin) and the rc4wd set (aluminum). Anybody have experience with one or both and a recommendation of one over the other? They are close enough in price that the money isn't a factor.
Thanks,
Brian

OFNA wheels and some 12-17mm adapters will get your tires away from your 4-links

Do you have the stock axles in your TXT or CVD's

Yes the IMEX Jumbo and Kong tires fit on OFNA Monster Pirate wheels. I have had a set of Jumbo Swamp tires on my T-Maxx for over 3 years. I didn't like the look of the IMEX wheels so thats why i went to the OFNA's. Plus they have less back spacing so its like a widener built into the wheels.

If you have a set of Kong wheels and tires your best bet would be to get the 12-14mm adapter/widener and see how they work for you.

Good luck with your build

Hmmm, I just looked and I get get 4 monster pirate wheels (in chrome) for $35. Then I'll need adapters to run the 17mm hex, ugh.

Thanks for the info.

Man, this is getting aggravating. I ordered the thundertech wideners and checked them out today. There's a lot of wobble, because the TXT wheel axles are wider than clods.

Off to order some clod shafts from Tower! This truck is getting expensive, and so far all I've got is tires wheels and axles :ack

I got the Thundertech wideners

The wheels on a TXT are a little thicker, so the axles are a hair longer to allow for this. I just didn't realize it would be an issue for these. It does say that they're for a clod, though. Worst case scenario would be to make a spacer between the barrel nut and the wheel, but the easiest thing to do is just order the clod axles (just the part that goes in the steering hub, I know I'm goofing up the terminology).

ah... ok. i didnt see what you meant at first.
you're right; the txt axle shaft is a tad longer.
a spacer on the outside or the use of clod shafts will work.

If you built tyhe axles w/ bearings you should have some plastic bushings that work just perfect. :wnk
