Well I've been looking and looking at all the monster truck builds. I have decided to build a Wheely Pounder! I will start a build thread as soon as the parts start to show up.

Ordered so far....
HPI Wheely King "Bounty Hunter"
Traxxas MJ wheels and tires
Traxxas drive shafts
Traxxas xl-5 esc
Crawler king lower shock/suspension mounts
Grounder Pounder chassis
Rear straight axles

If any of you Pounder owners have any suggestions please let me know!

mounts are boxed and on the way parcel post

Mock it up, drill your battery mount holes, tear it apart and then re-spray the delrin flat black

go with 2.2's glued into clod wheels with some rumbles, they look much better than the traxxas MJ wheels/tires.

Well got the Wheely King and decided to mess with that first. It all done I will get pics up later today! I did the following as guided from another member

Crawler King lower mounts
Took 3 coils off stock springs
Add 1/4 inch spacer to upper links
HR rear lock out
Made some sway bars

After I run this a bit I will build the Wheely Pounder. For you guys running clod wheels and tires what do you change gearing to for stock setup? Also what brushless motor and esc combo would you guys reccomend??

Here are some pics, I ordered the front MJ wheels instead of rears......oops!!! So I picked up some RC4WD mini wheel wideners, and the stance seems perfect. This things is the coolest and cheapest truck I have ever built!

When installed I pulled 2 out of the stock knuckle, and only installed 1 back in the HR straight axles, seemed right?!

My lockouts had a slight bit of play as well...made a bit of a "konk-konk" sound when you pulled and pushed the wheel on the axle. I used some teflon shims to take up the play. Problem solved.
