My buddy has a wheely king with a 15t trinity motor and he wants to know what gearing he should go with to get the most out of the motor and timing settings.
Any suggestions would help.
Thanx..

I can only suggest the following basic rules:

Run the largest spur (96 tooth from Robinson Racing)

The smallest pinion that will fit, not sure how small will work

Run the truck and keep an eye on the temp

Then gear up or down, depending on temp and performance, trial and error method.

Someone here may have more specific gearing suggestions, I haven't tried a motor with that low of a wind yet.

Troy.

I run a 17 turn motor in mine when I'm bashing. I run it with a 90 tooth spur and a 19 tooth pinion. I don't know if this "ideal", but it runs fine and doesn't get hot.

Im going to tell him whats you guys suggested. Its pretty much trial and error to get the right combination. His problem is that the ESC is going to thermal shutdown and he wants to have it run cooler. The ESC(Moped V16R) is not the greatest and it doesnt have external heatsinks.. He does have a heat sink on the motor but we'll make the changes and ill keep you guys posted.
Thanx for the input..:rock
