charged it up, took it for a drive, and the low voltage cut off kept shutting it down.

Ouch:willy That goose is cooked. How old is it? I'd try for warranty service for sure. Even if it is out, they may give you a good discount for a replacement.

It looks like it was melted from the outside but if you are sure it wasn't then it looks like something shorted from the inside. I'd still contact their service and see what they say.

I had some Thunder Power lipos puff on me and it was after a year and they gave me new higher capacity packs for 50% off even though they were passed warranty.....two of which had no proof of purchase even.

I think with the Hobby King packs you have 24 hours from the delivery time to file a warranty claim. Other than that, I think you're pretty much out of luck.

Definitely nothing from the outside. Something happened internally.
I'll see if I can get anything warrantied. If not, eh, they were cheap.

Looks like it was overdrawn or had something happen to overheat one of the cells. Is it at all possible some of the driveline made contact with the pack?

Thats one of the good things about those cheapie packs though.. when they do go bad, it doesnt hurt the wallet too much to replace.

If they don't warranty it and your going to pitch the thing can I get the balanceing plug off it? My 2s has a 4s connector and it won't balance charge.

nothing makeing contact with it at all in that spot.
what could cause it to be overdrawn or overheat?

i was running it in my R7R wk chassis, going slow, and driving on a wooden pier on my way to the beach.
i was literally driving at walking speed.
