On the advice of Will G I made the switch to lipo I went with his reccomendation the Thunder AC6 charger ($50) and Gens Ace batteries they finally had some 50C in stock so I got a few.
I put a Brushless hobbies 120A esc in my Rustler. The speedo was only $57 and is SWEET. It has USB program it works with sensor or sensorless motors and handles 3s. I also put a HPI Vektor motor in it. It is a 4000kv motor, 4 pole, 540 size. It was a take off from a new HPI Savage XS I got it for only $50 NEW on eBay. Some ebay sellers and Tower want $130 for the boxed ones but for an $80 savings I'll take the one out of a truck. I liked this motor so much I ordered a second one last night for my Slash. Low speed is very smooth with this ESC and/or motor. I don't know which it is, but I was really surpised how smooth it is after all BS i've read online about sensorless being jerky and sucky. Even on a good Nimh pack it's very driveable.
On 2s this thing is fast. On 3s it's BANANAS! I can be going like 30 mph or more and the trigger is barely pulled like 1/4 of the way and if I blip the throttle, even at that speed which is faster than the top speed of the stock Titan, it will flip over backwards. I haven't even been able to get it to max speed on 3s it's insane
I run out of room or it flips over as I bring it up to speed
Then there's my Slash. I never got into racing even though i found out there is a track 5 minutes away from my house. This one has a HobbyKing ESC and LPR 10.5 motor with sensor. It worked ok on Nimh but with 2s the motor don't work right. If I punch it, it will make a screech and get all weird and not accelerate. I think something is wrong inside the motor. It works OK if I got slow and gradually bring it up to speed but when I punch it it sucks. So that's why I ordered another HPI Vektor 4 pole 4000kv motor which I think is a Castle motor.
Then I have a Clodzilla 2. It has Super Rooster and stock Wheely King 27t motors. I usually run the hard body it's not fast enough to roll over lol so its safe
Then I have a Wheely King with blown tranny and rear diff. I'm going to be getting that back together one of these days.
