What is a good brushless motor combo to use that wont break the bank? The truck will just be used for bashing around the yard and running up and down the road.

Thanks Tom

I was going to use the toros in my clod but wanted to go waterproof in it. So do they have good torque as well as speed?

I haven't really decided if I want to go waterproof or not... If I do is there a good system like the toro that is waterproof?

You also have to decide whether you want to run a 1/10th scale or 1/8th scale system. I run a 1/8th system in my Emaxx, a HobbyWing 150 amp ESC and a Team C 1900kv motor.

The ESC I got on sale for $89.99, the Team C motor was given to me, it is identical to the Turnigy TrackStar motors which are about $30 if I recall.

I run my truck on 4s or 6s

Do you have any video of your truck running?

I don't have any video yet, I've never even done one before, might talk my wife into helping me do it though.

On 4s my truck is very fast, still will pop wheelies, on 6s it's INSANE!

I'm running the 3908 brushless transmission and the 3908 chassis. Do you have a newer or older maxx? I ask because I'm not sure how the old transmission would hold up to 1/8th scale power.

It's a new 3908 brushless truck so no worries there, even has some rpm upgrades. I just want to make sure the truck will have plenty of power to pull wheelies and run hard on 4s without overheating.

You should be good to go then, I just run the stock size spur with a stock size Robinson hardened pinion ( i think it 18t ) and I dont have any over heating issues. I run mine usually with dual 7000 mah, 140c, 2s race packs, no issues yet. I am running a little bit bigger tires, the Pro-Line Trencher X's on Desperado wheels, 1/2" offset. I also upgraded my center drive shafts to the Traxxas steel ones, I run Traxxas aluminum big bores with heavier Losi blue springs & 50wt Losi oil.

hello, i have been doing alot of messing around with the new emaxx, i have found that the LOSI 2800kv/ castle creations 2400kv motor and MMP work awsome on 3s and 4s, or the sidewinder and the turnigy traxck star 2650kv motor on 3s works great too just depends on how fast and how much power you want, the 2650 on 4 is fun BUT the blue castle motor is more fun, loads more torque, wite correct gearing NO HEAT issues, BUT i am the muggy man and i do like to put weird combos in RCs.
