John Deere Landscapes let me go again. Guess in Michigan Indiana and Ohio, they had to let go 32 people. I was the first one.

Then they said, "in the spring, we will need yard help if your interested" WTF!!! You have got to be joking. You terminate me 2 times within 14 months. Bunch of morons!!!

All of the other Managers I talked to in the area were in shock. They couldn't believe I was let go yet again.

They professed "it has nothing to do with you or your work, its just a business decision..

Guess I have time to fix my trucks now...
Oh and race more too!!!

The gov't says the economy is recovering...... yeah, right. Apparently they don't look beyond the rose colored glasses they all seem to be wearing these days. Good luck Jim on the job front, it's not fun, I know. I was there myself a little over a year ago.

You listen to the news and listen to the politicians tell us how we are improving and the job market is up and unemployment rates are declining and all I hear is my friends, neighbors and family losing their jobs and getting laid off. Our school doesn't have any money to do improvements and keep people on the payroll, the state doesn't have money to fix anything in infrastructure in the state.

Seems they are living in some kind of dream land where everything is just as perfect as can be now that they have taken all of our generations money, and the last generation and the generation to come. Heck I worked with one of the greatest guys you could ever meet and in 6 weeks time when the market crashed he lost $650,000 out of his retirement fund that took him 32 yrs to save up. Then good guys like yourself and so many others just get dumped on because no business has a very good fighting chance anymore because the population just doesn't have any money to spend anymore.

Pretty sad state of mind when you hear about it. Good luck Jimmy to you and your family.

It's sad, I've been out of work for a while and can't find anything. It's tougher then ever and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I personally have decided to go to college and get my degree in computer graphic design. With the way things are now, i need to look at something for a career.
There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere for all of us that are struggling. As hard as it is, we just gotta look at the positive and not the negative in this situation.
I hope something comes along for ya bud, just hang in there :tmb

Sorry to hear about you loosing your job. I hope you find somthing. Everyone says it's getting better, better for who? I hate politicians and eveything they stand for, they are only in it for themselves. They tell you this, they tell you that so they can get your vote. Once they get elected, they forget all about those promises they made when running for office.

Please don't tell me that you guys believe the politicians? I sure hope not because they're more alike than they realize, no matter what side of the political fence they are on.

You mean to tell me that the media was wrong and this guy can't fix everything overnight like he claimed he could? Gee...what a "shock" huh? At least he looks good when he's speaking and boy does he look good in a suit. Plus he has a nobel peace prize...whatever that's good for. Please don't tell me that anyone fell for his campaign stuff.

But...but...but...Oprah backed him...that has to count for something, right? The Hollywood wackos backed him too and as everyone knows, Hollywood knows EVERYTHING...right?

Oh please don't tell me that the USA is being led by yet *another* politician?!!! Oh no...the SHOCK! :D :D :D

Well, the media just *LOVES* him...yeah...that's gotta be worth something to us, right?

I'm hanging on by a thread, as is everyone in the defense industry, since The Sharp Dressed Man has been in the White House. It looks like more rounds of layoffs will be sweeping through my company in November and December and based on the first round in October, there is nothing that anyone can do to save their jobs. 30+ year veterans of the company were laid off in round 1. Lots of good knowledge walked out the door and so far has not been replaced.

As for me, I'm just living from paycheck to paycheck. There's a reason why I didn't buy a WRX STi last year and this was it. I had second thoughts about the job situation after this guy won the election.

If I get canned, so be it. I have a huge list of projects that I have to work on and that I've put off over the past few years. I may finally have the time to get cracking on them.

Hang in there and do what you can to scrimp and save every last dime. The last time that I went through this, I went back to school to get my master's degree, so you might think about re-inventing yourself and heading off in a new direction.

<3 Locoboy for going into the rant I refrained from so fiercely. It's pathetic what our country has become these days, I'm proud to be an American but to have seen what the country's turned into is quite appalling. Ugh okay need to hold it in before I let it blabber on, the economy is still crap and will probably be that way for the next year, Obama's stimulus plan has done nothing and we've spent less than like 5% of it....they don't work especially when the economy goes into a DEEP recession like this. But like everyone who had a brain said before Obama was elected...the economy will build itself back up and it sadly goes through cycles pumping unbacked printed money into the economy won't do anything except hurt the economy. Oh and not to mention the amount of spending he plans on doing...but hopefully people wise up to his "change" that he thinks he's going to implement well looks I went into my own little rant

Today at work I was busy as usual and then at around 3:30 PM my boss called me into his office to tell me that the company didn't need me any more. So, yep I've been laid off again. Funny how you get used to these things when you go through them again. :D My former company will be laying off people from now through April, so if it didn't happen now, it would have happened later.

Everyone, including my supervisor, was surprised that I was cut but what can you do? It was only a matter of time before my name was on the top of the list. I'm not complaining too much though because I'll still get full pay for 8 weeks.

The entire JLTV program may get canceled by the Obama administration, so there may be a mass exodus from BAE Systems soon. There were already rumors circulating about the government thinking that the M-ATV will do what the JLTV is designed for and cost much less.

I have to admit that driving the BAE Systems prototype JTLV was a lot of fun and something that I'll never forget.

It will be really nice to *finally* get to enjoy the holiday season and take a much needed vacation, two things that I missed out on big-time because of these military wheeled vehicle programs and their beyond-crazy schedules. JLTV and M-ATV ruined my holiday seasons for the past two years!
