VXL3s questions

i have a traxxas vxl3s and brushless motor combo in my wheely king, one problem i have found is that i cannot plug in a 7 cell battery. the truck will not turn on? if i plug in my 6 cell 5000mah pack it runs great, but once i connect the 7 cell pack it will not run? i can plug the pack into another truck and it will run but not in my wheely king. i am stumped, does the vxl3s have a cutoff that i need to program out of it?

any help will be most appreciated. thanks guys!

That's weird, I run one of my vxls on 7 cell venom packs I have. I'll ask a stupid question, you turned off the lipo cut off right? Your LED should be showing red while the truck is on instead of green.

crap. im showing green. how do i shut off the lipo low voltage detection? the instruction card does not say anything about turning it off? i got this out of a friends stampede that ran lipo for a while.

Push down and hold the power button the esc for 10 seconds (if I remember right) and then the motor will make some kind of tone letting you know it changed and then the LED will be red

Yeah if you are running a Nimh battery pack, you have to shut off the low voltage detector. You should be good to go then.
I run a Traxxas 4200mah 7 cell battery pack in my GP. Once you go to 7 cells, the truck will be noticeably faster.
If you have run a Lipo pack like you say, then you know this already.

ok charged my 7 cell nimh pack and plugged it in and hit the button for 10 sec and still did not work?

if i plug in a 6 cell nimh pack it will run fine but once i plug in the 7 cell it wont start up. it lights up green for 1 sec then red for 1 sec and turns off. i am really stumped on this one, i cannot figure out how long to hold it for to turn off low voltage detection.

with the 6 cell pack plugged in the light is red, once the 7 cell pack is plugged in the green light goes on for 1 sec then the red one right after for 1 sec and the esc shuts off?

you can download a user manual from traxxas website... hold it down (button on esc) til you hear a jingle that seems to go down the musical scale... DO do d

Solid red is what you are looking for when battery is plugged in for Nimh.

If you can make this happen and is confirmed when you use the 6cell then I think you need to start troubleshotting your battery and connections. Your esc should have no problem with a 7cell nimh
