I was wondering if anyone has the Redcat electric Volcano, is it a p.o.s.? and can you put 2.2s on it?

it does have 12mm hubs
basicly the same chassis as the touring cars

Body will break/crack looking at it. Forget the stock body.
Spur gear is really it's only other weak point, larger tires can only make that worse. It can take some abuse, I had the short course version and it was a blast. Get your gearing and mesh correct first time and you should be fine. To loose and it will take the teeth right off that plastic metric spur. Luckily it is a cheap part

I jumped the sc version 8 feet high over and over again all day at the park here. Never broke down, the stock body wasn't on though I had a proline on.

Cool, they are fairly inexpensive but I didn't know if they were like those Seben RCs on Ebay that have a rep for being junk

it's no racer, but for a light duty basher should be fine if you realize it can't jump houses or hit curbs at 35 mph

Would I buy another, probably not I'd get a AE SC10 or custom build a axial based ride.

My first truck was a Volcano. If you're wondering, you can bash the heck out of them. The motor gets really hot especially in Redcat trucks so if you have a good battery you may lose a motor in 1 or 2 runs. Other than that it's a great truck.
