Kidcrazy sent me some pictures.

What did they do, run it over? I offered him another basic radio if he'd pay the shipping charges.

At least the only thing damaged was the basic 2ch radio I put in as an extra. That's the reciever and black antenna wire you see by the broken handle.

That sucks. I once worked for another large shipping company and saw how they treated the packages, it was disgraceful. They literally just throw the thing around the truck, letting the item crash down onto the floor. I treat my bags of garbage better. I can only imagine how many of those showed up destroyed.

insurance?
Here is a fine example of how well fedex is, they are so lazy they hate to walk up the driveway so they just hurle the box from the sidewalk! Watch em once as I was coming to the door waiting for a replacement hard drive of all things and the dude just chucks the thing and hits the door, was like wtf man...drives off :bang

I just got a box last week through USPS that was crushed to half it's size. It's a good thing the parts were metal and the seller overkilled with a huge box and packing material. I can't remember ever getting a box that beat up from USPS before. UPS on the other hand is a different story. They beat the crap out of boxes on a regular basis with boxes that arrive at work.

Maybe it got jammed up on a conveyor belt and then smashed by another big box.

Whatever happened it still sucks. But at least it was only the AM radio.

insurance?
USPS insurnace is a total joke. If you ever try to make a claim you'll see what I mean. They will do anything to wiggle out of having to pay, and if you actually read the guidelines for their insurnace and the things you have to do to make the insurance valid it's insane.

That sucks!!! I have some spare radios if you need one. Savage03 nailed it on the button, There are some delivery workers who are lazy or just don't give a crap because it's not there package. Ups delivered a package to my house and the driver was throwing the thing in the air and trying to juggle it with one hand and dropped the package 3 times. Thank God there wasn't anything fragile in there. It makes you wonder what kind of stuff they do to packages.

Im not going to say anything about the post office because my dad retired from there afte 20+ years and my moms a postmaster with around 15 years...

Ive never really had a problem with any shipping company but UPS. They can send me a LCD TV with no problem but anything smaller always looks like they have played package baseball with em...

That sucks. Ive always had really good luck with the post office (for the most part). Couple lost packages but nothing ever destroyed like that. Lucky it was only the radio that got broke.

That sucks. I've haven't had better luck with UPS either. Even a simple letter from my grand mother was literally torn in half, put in a bag with an official sticker that said 'Sorry for the inconvenience.' And UPS some how destroyed a box full of PAPER. Sometimes it makes me wonder...

looks like next time something gets sent we need to have signature confirmation so if it's mashed up like that they can refuse to sign for it.

I plan to take the package with the radio and the truck to the Post Office to show them the damage to the box and radio. I do have a radio I can put in the truck that was going to go into my clod. This radio along with all my others may soon be temporary. I want to switch to a Spectrum Radio soon. The only reason I'm going to make a stink at the post office is because of the principle of the matter.

I've mostly gotten lucky with the various things that I've ordered online, except for about half of the computer parts that I've gotten off of ebay. The one that sticks out the most to me was a 19" CRT monitor that was shipped via DHL, it showed up and the box was round, there wasn't a non crunched part of the box, I called them, complained, they came back, picked it up and then never gave me a refund or anything. Oh, and I have ordered stuff from Newegg three times this month, it has been shipped 3/4 of the way by DHL before being handed off to USPS. It just makes me cringe.:-(
