someone should market that...
In my opinion that mount does not solve the problem, it just moves it. The stock cover spreads the stress over the cover and all 6 screws but that mount puts it all on just the 4 screws. and worst yet it uses standoffs that multiply the force. If the screws don't bend from a hard hit then it will be the screw holes in the housings that crack.

First off I would like to say that William G has pirated this photo to his members gallery with out giving credit where it's do. Shame on U!!!!!! Secondly HawnMT If you think of something better lets see it. The origional Aluminum cases are discontinued. I have tested this mout the same way with the same tree and it didn't break it the first time. The stock plastic case mouts are too high and have no real support. This brace solves that problem buy adding more support. The screws are 36mm long to add even suppport from breaking out. :D

The 6 case screws have nothing to do with the top mounts breaking off.:conf So why not use what works ? This is a simple solution to the problem and it works.:D

you are a real piece of work pal, all I did was put the picture in your post.

It's deleted, I would never take credit for that. Get over yourself. It's nothing great. You are new here and not making friends hurling accusations. All I did was try to help.

Done here.

Geez man, you act like I insulted your mother or something......

Yes the 6 case screws normally are not the problem(for the record I have busted them before) but in your setup the screw/holes become one. That's why I said that brace doesn't solve the problem, it moves it. With the stock setup the stress from the links are spread out over the cover(because it fits tightly on the housing) and all 6 screws. In your setup that mount carries the stress, eliminating the problem of the posts cracking, but now transmitting all that force through just those four screws. And with those screws being so long they now have added leverage on them, making them the weak point.

My answer is what it's always been, piece of aluminum(others add epoxy) to tie the posts together, get the truck as light as you can, and make sure your suspension actually works to absorb some of those stresses. I also use the stock rod ends on the axle end of the links to act as "breaker," that way the link will pop when I'm do something a little nuts.
