TXT Rock Buggy - Build Thread

Been a while since I posted a build on RCMT, so I'm gonna follow up right here.

I've been toying with the idea of building a truck on the TXT-1 axles for a while and I think I finally got a chassis that I like. It's a pretty much 'larger-than-life' kinda build, I don't delude myself into thinking it's gonna be a solid crawler, or a good super-comp rig. It's just a build with what I've had laying around and a decent Tube chassis that I recently purchased off of 'Heavy' here in the forums.

Ingredients:
-TXT-1 Axles
-JP Customs Knuckles
-Oversized Wheel Bearings
-ThunderTech Wideners
-Duratrax Warhead (??? Not sure) Tires/Wheels 7" tall
-RC4WD Drive Shafts
-TubeWorks Tube Chassis
-TXT-1 Transmission
-GD-600 2.5:1 Reduction
-550 Sized Motor
-Novak Super-Duty ESC
-Custom Carbon Links
-Ball Bearings Throughout.
-Maxx Aluminum Big-Bore Shocks

I mocked it up for the first time this evening, the mockup is a little short (wheelbase) but it's a pretty decent Idea of what I'm going for. The 'hood' piece isn't installed but will be, along with some other plating.

Thanks guys, Definitely has some beefy driveshafts, the RC4WD units are pretty nice.

I'm hoping they're long enough after doing some work on the links, but we'll find out when I get the suspension completed.

Looking good! You shouldn't have sold the Boyer tuber though I would have liked to see that one built up.

That was a sweet chassis, but I started assembling it and wasn't satisfied with the dimensions.

I don't know, I just kept running into little things. SOO, off it went!

Some progress yesterday evening. I fitted some roughly spec'd links under the chassis to check driveshaft lengths and clearances for everything. Appears the rear links are going to be a hair longer then the front.

Also, got the gear reduction from Stangnomore (thanks alot bud!) so I can install the motor onto the Transmission.

Check it out:

More progress, since I've been back.

Measured and cut out the remaining links. I'll be sleeving them as necessary, but right now they're rough fit.

Here it is:

Would this qualify for the upcoming build contest?? I don't think I'm going to be running a Lexan body, but I can definitely make an RCMT.net sticker work.
