Honestly, I don't know how that platform has hung around as long as it has. That has got to be the most laborious transmission to mount motors to and adjust gearing ever conceived in the world of r/c. You pretty much have to buy another Traxxas or Axial tranny to install if you plan on having any real fun. I won't miss it. They need to release an updated MT with 1/8 diffs. Real diffs, not their weird pot metal design.

I had fun with mine. never broke anything running brushless as far as gearing. BUT, a sideslap would 9/10 times snap a ball off of the upper link transmission mount cap. So the threaded end would pretty much ruin the cap. So, youd have to order a new one. But you had to buy the whole part tree just to get the cap. I ended up with 4 extra axle housings just because I needed the caps. It started getting ridiculous. So I finally sold it.

It was a shame though. I enjoyed it. The pot metal was surprisingly tough. imo.
