Trouble with shock caps

Anyone else have trouble with their shock caps blowing off? I know the WK is not a big air machine, but I was jumping mine tonight and on two separate rough landings had both rear shock caps blow off. I'm thinking the T-Maxx Teflon tape trick might be in order.

Anyone else have issues with this?

I too have yet to have any problems with my shocks on my WK or NMK(except for once which it flipped into a garage door at nearly full speed lol wheels landed on the garage door blowing out the rear shock caps.)

but other wise no lol

I have popped a couple
Seems some pop, some don't. But once you pop them once it keeps doing it. :bang The HPI aluminum WK shocks are not cheap or easy to find either. So I cannot say if they are worth the money. Traxxas maxx shocks are a little shorter but cheap enough for me to buy them.

I have not had this problem before on my wheely king but you could also try looking into venom racing shocks? Mine came anodized green and came with the 2 sets of springs that are shown in the link before.

I didnt pick up my shocks from this website though. I happened to find the shocks at my local hobby store. Keep in mind that they are sold in pairs but this website is offering a great price on them. I paid 30 per pair for mine.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have a set of Maxx shocks that might be going on. I did the Teflon tape trick last night - I'm going to wait and see if they hold.

I did go out and measure how far I was jumping the truck. 22 feet...give or take and about 4-5 feet in the air. First blotched landing blew the caps off both rear shocks and broke the driveshaft yoke. Well, not really broke but popped it apart. After the repair and a few more successful jumps I botched it again and blew both rear shock caps but the driveshaft stayed intact. :tmb

I think I need to get my stadium truck running and leave the big air to that. :tong

Stadium truck????????????
Stalker!

Didn't you see it when you were over the other day? I got a Duratrax Evader EXT on the ultra cheap about two months ago. Need to pick up a couple odds and ends for it to be ready to go. The Defender WK has been in the way of getting the stadium truck going.

The teflon tape seems to have done the trick but then again I have not aired it out the way I did to blow them off in the first place.

I know the teflon tape trick did wonders for my T-Maxx back in the day.
