Trailfinder 1 to Monster truck?

Hey guys, I was digging through some boxes of my rc junk and I found a brand new rc4wd trailfinder 1 chassis. Its the red aluminum frame one with the four link suspension and it has aluminum axle housings and all! It also has a two speed tranny!
I was thinking this would make a great retro truck build. Has anyone here ever done this? Is there a way to fit clod tires on to it, the rims that are on it are rc4wd steelies and the axle pin is what engages the wheel (same as old associated wheels)
The thing I like about this chassis is that's its all metal, there is no plastic on it at all, its built like a brick **** house! should make a cool tough MT
Ideas? suggestions?

nice build!, I want to try to use the stock trailfinder axles that I have as they are all aluminum, never thought about using MJ stampede rims and tires though, that may be a better option then using clod wheels/tires. Ive got a full set of WK rims and tires packed away that would probably work.

You'd probably need wideners on those axles but hard to say without seeing them. I've also heard the internals are a bit weak and throwing big tires on will put a lot of stress on them. WK tires may be a viable option. I went with the MJ tires because of the SC style wheel allows better clearance for turning. I just grabbed the hpi 79 ford and will post a pic soon. Anyway, good luck on the build and post pics!

Try to get a set of TXT-1 or Kyosho USA-1 wheels instead of the Traxxas ones! Your truck will look KILLER with these!!
