They are nice trucks

Here is a breakdown of what it cost including the shipping to me for the parts

40 for 2 chassis plates
75 for rear axle
52 for the transmission
15 for trans mount-skid and rear links
40 for shocks
15 for delrin (cross members and links)
32 for dinky link servo mount
8 for WK battery box
7 for link ends
16 for 6-32 threaded rod, and the 3mm hardware

What's missing
front axle guts
drive shafts (34 bucks)
motor, esc, servo and radio
Is this one of the more higher dollar builds?

depends if you can get parts cheap, or already have some of them. I would not say high $ like a full out clod build, but not a cheap build either.

The other one I had most of the parts and just needed axles and hardware so it was real cheap for that reason.

Would locked diffs be bad for a 4x4x4 monster truck ? Which of the axial axles would be better for monster truck; wraith or scx10 ? I ask, because I believe I read somewhere that the scx10's are narrower then the wraith's..

locked diffs with such wide tires give a funky handling situation and can wear/break parts much easier.

When I built scx10 axled monsters I had to use wideners, (at least 1/2'' 1'' was better) with AR60/wraith axles I do not with EQR wheels.

No wideners means less tire scrub = better performance

Did the transmission plate drop right into the chassis after you drilled a few holes to align the plate with the chassis? And does the stock Wraith wheelbase go with the chassis? I did see that you modified the front, but is that necessary?

trans skid plate has a small lip on each side I cut off. Takes 10 seconds with a simple hack saw to the plastic skid plate.

Wraith WB is 14, 14 is to long IMHO so I cut it shorter. 13 is really the maximum WB for a 1/10th body though I prefer more like 12 or 12.5 to look the best.

Modifying the trans plate doesn't sound difficult. And I would probably keep the wheelbase stock because I'm cheap. Also what shocks are you using? Would the stock Wraith shocks would fit? And is the transmission brushless ready?

HPI shocks http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFYP6&P=7
don' know, never used the kit shocks even with my first build when the wraith was first released

Trans does well, but there is steel gears available if your a brute on it.
