every time we take this thing out I can't get a full pack put through it. It breaks. I have spent more time wrenching on it then I have driving it. I have over 450.00 bucks into this thing. And now I need tires. Another 150.00 and I could have a flux or e-maxx!!!! I like the monster truck look but dam, It's all about the fun ie run time.

I really wanted a summit but the 560.00 dollar price tag was out of my reach. But by the time I buy tires and the upgraded shock mounts I will be there. I will go on the record this truck sucks and I will NEVER buy a Redcat racing anything. I tore the trans apart for the mod1 spur gear and there was no grease in the case. I can only imagine the diffs are the same way. The only thing on this truck that is worth spit is the chassis.

but i imagine if i put mod1 spur gear metal, then my GP will be good to run with a 3300kv brushless setup? I already got MIP metal drive shaft.

I swear my GP was cursed out of the box, the pos never ran right from day one and I had put too much $$$ into it to try and get it to run right.

My last straw was that I got a new 19T mod motor in it and I moved two Inches, Yes 2 inches, and the motor cooked then too find out other people had problems with same motor.

I should have bought a Clodbuster when I was deciding between the two. I would have been better off in the long run and happier too. Never again.

Ya it will be good to go 'until the first jump and then a shock cap will go flying and if you find it the next jump will break a shock mount or a rod end. That is if the axle housing doesn't break first. And I'm only talking about a small jump like 2ft of air. When my shock mount broke I hit a soft rubber ball like 10 inches around and it broke another rod end. I hope your not using a stock radio as mine fried a losi esc befors I could finish programing it. That 35$ figured in brings the total to 485.00. And now I need upgraded shock mounts and tires!! Sorry Brett this truck sucks!!

I traded mine to a rcmt member this week for a nitro truggy,i only broke a lower shock mount $1.99.Like i said a bunch of times, its very entry level, not a piece of crap. The chassis is great. The axles and plastic are weak china plastic. To put more the a upgraded brushed motor and esc is nuts.Im very happy i traded it away,i just cant see putting money into a entry level truck,$150 bruchless kits,$75 axle braces, big clod wheels that weaken the whole truck. My advice take the $250 you plan to upgrade the GP and just buy a better kit.Kinda bitter sweet,i said the truck could not hold up with brushless power and some said i just had a bad attitude and when i said its nuts to put crazy money on parts to make axles stronger after dumping $300 on a kit.Guess the proofs in the pudd'n.:shk:bang:bang:bang:bang.

Redcat is not crap, just entry level. For example,if you were going to buy a atv, stick with the big 4 honda, yamaha, kawa, suzuki, you dont buy some wahoo brand.Remember kiddies"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR".TAMIYA,TRAXXAS,HPI,TEAM ASSO,ALL COST BIG BUCKS FOR A REASON.:tmb:tmb:tmb:tmb:tmb

Your so right. By the time I realized that, it was to late. Lets face it there is not many solid axle monster trucks out there to choose from. We all know a stock clod sucks worse than the GP. I think the Mad Force is probably the best stock solid axle MT out right now. Though I've never been a fan of Kyosho and didn't even know about the Mad Force when I bought the GP. The USA1's had steering issues and a chassis that broke fairly easy. CPE needs to sell turn key race clods.

I had already bought a WK and AX10 for my 2 boys. The WK was also a piece of crap.(I know I'm gonna get some heat for that) Every time my son took it out it broke an axle( I swear). The AX10 was very durable but was pretty boring. TOO slow. We hopped it up with a better motor but the chassis just wasn't designed for much speed.
I have been out of the rc thing for a while and did do some research before I bought the GP. that's how I found this forum. The only bad that I found was the V1 and 2 trans issues and a broken axle housing or two. No big deal. When it shows up it couldn't go 20 ft with out glitching. (my mauri big bear in 1985 could go to the end of the block)
Then the esc went out so i replaced it with a losi again it glitched so bad it fried before I could program it. So now new radio, esc ,motor, just to drive it!! So ya entry level or not it's a piece of crap.

I think your point has been made clear. I really am sorry you have had such a bad experience. There are plenty of different threads on here that can point you in another direction with different types of trucks.

I think it's safe to say that most everyone on here spends lots of money of these things- most more than $500 a truck. A race clod easily averages between 800- 1000... and when you go to sell it you will probably get back just under half that- maybe.

But another thread where you bash GP just is not needed... please let this die and move on... I really don't mean any offense to you but severe the limb and enjoy the hobby.

By the way I paid 250.00 for the ax10 and my son mobbed it for 2 years before the esc went out. I at least expected the GP to work out of the box!

AX10 is a great truck with lots of awesome reviews, the Axial company sponsers many events, how many do Redcat sponser?Forums are for discussing good and bad.The whole point of these threads is to provide a honest evaluation of rc's,how to's,etc.Like others have said, the input of these forums is a big reason why i jumped for the GP over the WK.So to come on these forums a be a redcat fluff boy,may not be the best thing.

point taken. I just kinda snapped. The look on my little boys face when I had to order yet more parts was more than I could take. We have some race clods in the works. Sorry guys I just needed to vent.
