Help: Tire width

Does the width of a tire, have any effect on the weight of the tire ?

My GPs have clod-size tires on them.
Both sets are 4-4.5" wide.

Awhile back, I saw a GP on here, that has v tread Emaxx tires on it, and I love the way they look.

So if I went to a set of the Emaxx tires, would they be any lighter ?

Typically more material = more weight.


Are you referring to my old Safe Auto with the Trinity Emaxx V-tread tires?

Actually Jon,

No. Although your truck is another example to go by. I was referring to the GP, that was done as a Speed Energy Bigfoot. It has a j-concepts raptor body, and traxxas 3.8 v tread tires, with orange and black wheels.

When I had my GP I ran the Maxx chevron style tires and loved them and they were lighter than a clod tire, at least the stock clods. Anyway, they were sweet.
