wow, what a nice truck but sadly it will be out of my budget.
with this and the slash from traxxas they will be selling a bunch of rc's
the slash might be within my budget if the initial price of 200 is correct.
but how is it a 1/10 scale thing is huge compared to a rustler.

got a question about the e-revo though.
i know it has the air vents and all but wouldnt the batteries still get hotte then they should in that compartment.

si it does seem that traxxas is listening to the community and wanting a e-revo.
good for them

I knew if I held out long enough this truck would show up...this is why I held off buying another emaxx...this truck will be out of my budget but eventually I'll pick one up. After upgrading every other car they have starting at the bottom, the Revo is here. Really sweet news.

this was way to funny guys so I went to the LHS to see if they had a release date on it yet !! They looked at me like I was on some kinda drug and said silly there isnt no E-revo. i then laughed and said I beg to differ They then rebutted that there are kits to convert I said no traxxas has it out and I want one . Well this went back and forth for some time then It came down to that i bet him if there was such a truck that i would get the first one for free in the stor no matter what !! That didnt fly so I said how about $100 gift card ? he agreed we went to traxxas site and boom he laughed and said that its in testing I said well they released at RCX so it is for real and its on the site released .
SO I walked out with my parts for my savage and esavage for free !!
Oh and it was a Hobbytown.

Two speed is optional (just like in the new E-Maxx).
But is it a auto two speed or is it the old shift on the grip? I want the auto !!!!!!!
And then a three speed for brushless!! I just wonder if the internal gears in the tranny are plastic or metal?

Love your story. Parts for free :tmb.

It is manual shifting via a 3rd servo just like the E-Maxxes. I read somewhere at the traxxas boards that it is even the same tranny with the new E. just with a different motor mounting plate. Dunno if that is 100 correct.

According to the Vegas Traxxas rep, expect late summer and a street price under $500...

I'm saving up now! LOL! Hopefully they arrive in time for MJ at RC Alley in August!

Not bashing Traxxas in anyways. But if your going to buy this at any price unless its under $200. The whole thing will eventually be dismantled to run brushless. For 1. the tranny wont handle it so prepare yourself to get a new upgraded tranny. 2. The plastic parts running on it when you go brushless will disinagrate on the first run when you see the speed it will handle. 3. Those battery slots are great for basic Lipo batteries 2 maybe 3 cell. But who are we kidding. Everyone wants to go faster and we all know that you will want to. Expect to cut that opening out to accomidate the battery. After all is said and done after months and hundreds of dollars later, It would had made more scence to build an E revo like has been a hundred time over now that will run better and handle better than this would in an after life. 2 thumbs up for traxxas for stepping it up, 3 thumbs down for not being soon enough to step it up when people were just thinking about it.

If you actually read through the release pages in the first link above you would have seen that supposedly they designed the drivetrain to withstand evil brushless power... Something like 6s lipo power and 50+mph hand wound brushless motors...

Why do you think the tranny wont handle brushless power? They stated that it has an oversized steel idler and a new slipper clutch...

And if you can stuff a 3 cell lipo in the battery slot, one on each side would be over 22 volts, right? Sounds like more than enough voltage to make this thing just downright silly...

Yup. Sure is. From whta I read on the other boards, they are now taking pre-orders of the ESC. Combo pack with the motor will follow in a later date.

I'll be waiting for the combo myself.
