This is just my opinion, but I would NEVER EVER get rid of my Tekin BC112C or BC112A. They'll have to pry those babies from my cold, dying hands. Every once in a long while, an all star product comes out in an industry. It's the product that stands the test of time well after it may have been discontinued and newer, "better" products have supposedly replaced it. The Tekin BC112A/C series of battery chargers are two of those products. People *still* use them today. I've had my BC112C for ten years now and it has NEVER failed me. It just works, plain and simple. I'm certainly not the only one that has never had a problem with a BC112A/C either.
So, if it were me I'd get the firmware in your BC112C upgraded.
If you do decide to get a new charger though, the Duratrax IntelliPeak Ice sure looks like a nice one. It charges all battery types, which sure is a nice feature. I do not know how well it holds up though because it doesn't have the 15 years of real world testing like the Tekin BC112A/C chargers do.
Despite how long and how much I've been praising my Tekin BC112A/C chargers, people here on RCMT have gone with other brands numerous times when the subject of "best charger" has come up in the past. When they later post reports of their charger false peaking like crazy, their charger going up in smoke, their batteries being overcharged, and horror story after horror story, I just keep my mouth shut.
Last November I bought a brand new BC112A on eBay and it too has worked flawlessly just like my BC112C.
