My buddy has a t-maxx with the 2.5R in it. When it shifts into 2nd gear it will pop into neutral. Once the revs come down it will go back into gear. Every time it shifts to 2nd it will do this. Anybody know whats up?

it has reverse and one forward gear was chipped. We think from it popping back into gear when the revs come down.

If its a grey transmission case the revo guys should be able to help you out better than me. If its the black transmission I should be able to help.

There should be a clutch for second gear, forward and reverse. A small arm expands out and catches a pin which then transfers power to the drive shaft. If either the pin or arm is worn out then the clutch wont engage right. Its a bit tedious but you have to completely dismantle the transmission and check each clutch. I would start with the second gear clutch.

When you go to put everything together a little light oil on the gears is fine but keep it away fro the clutch's.
