Awfull lot of leverage, both vertically (tall tire) and horizontally (widened). It's always the same, mod or strengthen one area and another will fail. :ack Bet some 1.9 sedan tires would help lessen the breakage. :laugh

i bent the hot racing ones on mine too...stock clod tires, but it was with dual mamba 4600s and 3s lipo...

that's why i had to go JPS..

hot racing's customer service sucks too...i emailed them to see of they could sent me one new screw for their knuckles, since one of mine was the wrong size, but they never replied to me, after i sent several emails...i just ended up using that knuckle with a stock screw in the rear, where my steering was locked anyway...

Haha don't feel bad. My brushless clod with stock tires goes through those Hot Racing knuckles on a regular basis. It seems like every other run I have to take them off and straighten them out.

Hey nosyajg, are those JPS knuckles stock size? I'd like to use them on my integy tubes because they look extremely beefy.

Wow beefy! Any issues with it mounting to the integy tube? How much were those to? I really like the new integy hd ones sexy in black :tmb Just waiting for my friend to get them, I ordered them for him since I get the special discount(due to their customer service is lousy as well, they offer a discount instead of replacing) but they have yet to ship it after being paid for last Thurs. :willy

Little boredom attack today, while waiting for the new knuckles/tubes to come I started taking the old ones off before doing so I felt a roughness inside the case and the worse thoughts started, busted teeth so on....well what was a simple removal of the tubes turned into popping the case open which is well overdue since I hadnt done it in I dont know couple years? I had no good feeling when buying the HotRacing gears and figured them to explode the first time out well that never happened and by the pics you can see tehy are doing great! So the roughness is from only thing then ugh the ball diff, guessing the balls need replacing and since TTR discontinued them im hoping they are of a common size? Should be fun since TTR doesnt appear to like answering emails these days either :bang

Also considered going back to LST meats but wow that is some difference in size....

Spoke to soon, just got done pulling the rear end apart and wow this one is gone and it looks like the larger gear section even is bent some. The other gear is fine tho.

I see that these look to have been indeed actually designed for a 2.2 based Clod due to the smaller size fork of the tube. I also see that with the way the arms bolt to the knuckle that it basically thinned out the material of the arm where it's mostly needed in order to prevent it from bending. Now as for as Integy goes, from what I've read and heard is that they're metal is soft and people has had alot of bad feedback with the overall product itself, as well as it's customer service. Personally the Savage MSR8 Piggyback Shocks are the only thing I have ever owned from them, and on one shock the piggyback actually rubs against the upper spring retainer due to how close it is to the hex of the spring retainer. As for the other 3 MSR8 shocks I have....well they don't got that problem and will unscrew perfectly without rubbing the against the upper spring retainer. So to say that somewhat shows a small flaw with the manufacturing on they're end.

Now with the above been said, if you plan on running the JPS Tubes & Knux, those tubes doesn't really do much good when you wanna run the axle braces, this is due to the curve like taper on the back side of the fork of the tube. Now it is possible, but honestly it isn't a real nice fit to where the axle brace would play a role with reinforcing anything due to slop.

And as for them JP Knuckles, those have been long out of stock and I don't think theres any plans of producing anymore. Those knuckles was designed for mounting Sub-C cells around it for increased weight per wheel. Those arms are also not much thicker than Hot-Racing knuckle arms, so bending may just occur as well with trying to run those knuckles. I would say JPS is indeed the way to go, but with the sloppy mounting of the axle brace and it not really reinforcing anything, you'd just have to hope the tube doesn't snap or bend any of the screws that hold it to the case, which unless you were doing some really large jumps then I could see that going south with not holding up.

BTW a69baldone is selling off some JPS tubes and link mounts for a real good price if you can squeez putting out for em.

Really dont know what I got myself into and of coarse I find this all out after selling off my tubes but the main issue still remains and thats the knuckles. This stage I have no clue what to do....
I got $100 into these tubes and if I cant return them im even more screwed and no I dont have $200 to spare right now either :-(

we don't got any kinda local machine shop here on the rock but I'm sure any local machine shop in your area should have no prob milling the hole a little large so you can make the CVD's work out. Plus they'd probably do it for just a few bucks being it wouldn't take a whole lot of time on a regular hand cranked mill/lathe.

oh yeah I also wanted to ask you, did the idea of running crossmember links across the body mount wing plates work from keeping the plate from bending? or did you not get to run your truck long enough to find out?

Ordered the rc4wd gear this time instead of another HR one so see how they hold up. They do feel a little heavier so maybe better metal?
