Looks like a "must have" upgrade to me:tmb Are the axles stainless? Or some other high grade metal...inquiring minds want to know.

Indeed, it's a must-have for any scale build. Hua makes his straight TLT straght-axles out of stainless. Hopefully, these should be no different.

Hmm, havent really followed the goings on with the wheelie king in some time but does it seem like HPI might be trying to knock the clod off its pedestal?

They don't have to try. Tamiya basically called it quits. No TXT ads. Nothing. Same for the Clod. The Wheelie King is the new solid-axle king.

Well even without Tamiya advertising it just look on here and other forums, the clod is still by far quite popular. Now I have not seen a king in person but can it perform as well as a clod with a single motor and what not? What about as a basher? Just what I need is another rig to add to teh wish list :reye

Performance-wise, the Clod is better but remember, you're comparing two different beasts here. The WK is a 1/12 scale where the Clod is 1/10. The Clod, IMO, is more versatile because you don't have to figure a center tranny into the equation like with the WK.

About any truck will do what you want to one extent or another if you're willing to invest the time and/or money.

also, if you like BIG, the clod is the winner.
i definitely feel safer running big tires on the clod.
