Rustlers can be very competitive for stadium racing. One racer decided to see how well a rustler could work, he didnt hop up alot of things, just added good bearings, battery, motor, and lowered the cg like other stadium trucks. He was in the A-Main every week.

As far as your track goes, we did a local outdoor event here a few years ago. It was the "Grass Nationals". The local city property said we had to run on the grass. So we mowed it down to 1/2 in. Guess thats what they do in Europe. It was alot of fun, and had awesome traction too. I won the buggy class with my Kyosho Pro X. To be honest, not every track has to be dirt. It was way more fun...new challenge...alot of excitement.

Short grass isn't bad.
I have thick, spongy Florida grass and it's too much. Tho I haven't gone out and mowed it really short.
Tho it would still be really spongy and bouncy.

BigHappy... what's the motor/esc?

I haven't gotten to taking pictures of my wheels yet, some people came over.
I'll try to get to it later.

The motor in it is a Titan 12 turn and the extra is a Stinger 20 turn. Which one is the stock one?
The esc is a Tazer
Tires are Speed Hawgs
He put different gears in it also but I dont remember what they were off hand.

Our grass still hasnt recovered from the heat and dry weather. Most is green but some is still brown and crunchy. The area I want to do the track in isnt good for much else so why not?

Yeah, why not.. I'd do it if it wouldn't ruin the yard and I wasn't trying to leave here in a few months.

The Titan 12t is the stock motor for the XL-5 version, but that ESC isn't (the XL-5 is).

I don't know anything about the Stinger motor the Tazer esc... I'm sure someone here does.

While my guests were out getting grill provisions, I got pictures of tires...

..stock rear, stock front, Anaconda (front rear are same tread), 30 Series Dirt Hawgs (again, same tread f/r), and stock Wheely King Mud Thrashers.

Stockers

30 Series Dirt Hawgs

Anaconda street tires.

WK Mud Thrashers.

I don't think running Mud Thrashers on the front would improve anything and probably be rough on the steering servo.

I've actually ran the Mud Thrashers before on the rear with the stock fronts.
Obviously, their size is and rotational mass is a bit much so that was the only time. Looked pretty mean with the back jacked up with monster tires, like some crazy dirt dragster.

I forgot to take some pics with that setup and my guests have returned and it's time to feast. Maybe some other time.
