Hi Everyone, I must not have been searching the correct way because my efforts returned nothing. I have read many threads on other sites as well and everyone says to use "Easy Off" oven cleaner. Well me demise is that this stuff is not taking the paint off. Not sure what the person used but the only thing I have found is Laquer Thinnner and it is a WAY TO SLOWWW Process. As well it does take some of the fine details out of the body.

Any help would be appreciated.. As well I have found out the truck has been painted like 3 - 4 times. White on top, Yellow, spots of Orange and then the Original Blue (Box Art).

Thanks for your help.

other things that can work are, simple green and brake fluid...

I would stayu away from normal paint eaters like mineral spirits, acetone, or paint thinner

I've heard nail polish remover works, but those contain mineral spirits...

it makes sence that if you diluted mineral spirits enough it could be safe, but on a vintage body like this I wouldnt try it

don't use nail polish remover, it is watered down acetone and will eeat paint, but EZ-off is better.

Castrol superclean works on most paints
EZ-off works very wel, spray, bag it seal for an hour or two for tough spots
brake fluid, works Extreamly well, but a hazard and you need to dispose of properly. plus it's costly.
westley white wall tire cleaner works well, but not on all paints
Laquer thinner, acetone, mineral spirits can all work well, but may eat the plastic, are hazardous and need proper disposal. Also proper ventilation is a MUST DO. All are extrreamly flamable, flashpoint of laquer thinner is 75 degrees :banghead

I just got my bruiser today and the body is already sitting in DOT 3 brake fluid. I got the idea from Etype Rs "Rebuilding the Bruiser thread. It seems to be working but I do need to let it sit there for a little longer.

I think WillG's words need to be said again. Stay far away from acetone and laquer thinner. These will definetly eat the plastic.

I have had great luck with easy off oven cleaner.

pictures showing easy off oven cleaner for paint stripping.

Mineral sprits is pretty harmless. I use it to clean and degunk my old rides. I tested it by leeting a piece of plastic sit in it for two months and it had no ill effects.

Ok I have tried the Easy Off and it didn't work on my Bruiser Bed/Cap and over night I tried the Super Clean Degreaser in the Purple Jug and just let is soak over night. All it did was just put aligator skin small cracks in it. I don't know what this person originally used but this paint is acting like it is BOMB proof. LOL :banghead

Even the Laquer Thinner doesn't want to cut it unless you rub over and over a tiny spot at a time. But then it hasn't even cut through the tough white paint.

your going to have to use brake fluide and let it sit
It won't eat the plastic, but wear gloves and dispose of properly when done.

Cover it too, don't leave it "open" to atmosphere as it diminishes the fluide.

Actualy, same goes for the others, seal and they work best, and if left open results go bad quickly.

Your Super Clean is working!!! If it is cracking the paint, it is working. I soak the bodies in it for days. I had one in it for a week. Be patient. The stuff is harmless to the body and will slowly break down the bonds in most paints. If the stuff doesn't work, you know right away, as the body looks as good as it did going in. Soak it and each evening take a soft brush (ie tooth brush) and brush off the loose stuff. Don't be impatient, just get the easy stuff and stick it back in the bucket.
