Hi, for my conversion, I need some stiffer springs than the stock red ones. Anyone know what fits properly from another brand?

thanks!

Don't know about a different brand but HPI has replacement springs in increasing stiffness.

HPI 6589 red (stock, what you have)

HPI 6590 yellow

HPI 6592 black

HPI 6593 blue

HPI 6594 purple stiffest

They fit exact, cuz they are made for it. (duh) :)

Tower says they are for the HPI Nitro RS4 MT2, but they fit the Wheely King too.

copied for the FAQ, thank you.

Ok, cool.:tmb

So if I wanted a slightly lowered ride height without softening the suspension too much, I could change springs and lose the spacers?

duratrax evader rear springs work too, they are about a half inch or so shorter.

take your shocks apart and install spacers on the shaft under the piston
like this.......

They're actually not too bad to work on, and the stock oil they come with is way too thin. Someone suggested 50 weight, which sounded too heavy but worked out well with the stock tires. A piece of fuel tubing under the piston works good for lowering the ride height, or do what I did on my race pede and use a dremel tool to cut the springs. Just be sure to cut them all the same amount. Don't be afraid to experiment and find a setup that suits your needs and driving style. Keep in mind there is no "one" ultimate setup, it depends on how you want it to perform.
