I am trying to get my CPE clod running and I seem to be having problems with the ESC (Super Rooster)

Whe the plug is fully inserted into the receiver, I get no red light from the esc, but if I remove the plug and barley insert it back into the receiver I do get a light and the rig starts going nuts :willy

BUT, once I push the the "push button setup" nothing happens, it supposed to change to green so I can start the setup process, it does not....The light just remains red no matter how long I keep the button pushed in :bang

Any ideas?

I swear I heard of S-Roosters going out after a while or ppl having probs with them after a long while. Sorry I got no input and it's a bit of a bummer Novak doesn't have a warranty like Traxxas's other wise you send that puppy in and get a new one.

have you looked for corrosion on the ESC plug and radio plug.

sounds like signal is being interrupted.

luckily novak is still servicing these, so worst thing you'll have to do is send it in for a refurbished one

I don't think they are. Last month someone on RCC made a thread complaining that Novak wasn't repairing these anymore. "Novak One" (screename) responded that they had stopped, but that SR could be turned in for partial credit on a Super Duty XR exchange.

Sorry Alfy, I have no idea what's wrong. I have a SS5800 brushless that is doing something similar, but Novak stop repairing these too. I emailed them and they said it is broken and I could turn it in for partial credit on a XBR.:-(

I understand that they can't keep reairing these things forever, but my SS was bought new LAST YEAR (albeit on sale) from a local hobby shop and I hardly ran it, now it's useless.

Do you guys think I may have fried it? I am using 2/13t Speedgem kobals with 13t pinions

the limit IS 15T

but some people push that limit and this can be the result

sounds like upgrading to the super duty wouldn't be a bad idea since its dual motor limit is 11T
