Spid's Bullhead

It has almost turned out too good. Same with my Mod Clod. Little concerned with damaging them when I drive them. Can't wait to get all the chrome on.

That is hands down the best looking Bullhead body I've seen so far. It would be a travesty to scratch it up. Please use a basher body when you run it.

Wow, thanks TamiyaTony. That is a huge compliment.

Here are pictures of the body with all the chrome mounted and lights attached, truck ready to roll.

Lights! I added light mounts for the front orange LEDs and rear red and white.

That turned out really really really really sharp, nice job!!!! I have to agree with TamiyaTony on you better have a basher body ready so that one doesn't get ruined. :D :D

I really like how the chrome trim turned out, it looks really sharp. The lights look killer as well. I think that the design of the body will do a pretty good job of protecting the trim around the doors and the back of the truck since the exhaust tips, air filters and roll bar will take the brunt of a rollover. The fenders though will be pretty exposed to danger. I wish there was a lexan clone of the Bullhead body. It's hard to find a basher body that fits well on the stock Bullhead body mounts.

I noticed something missing and it just came to me now that you dont have the flag on it that came with the kit.
Other than that you did a great job. Just watch out not to roll it over becoz those exhaust stacks and roll bar will get the most punishment. Also If you did glue those wheels you'll be seeing wheelies and it will scratch the back end and front end of the body and I dont think you'll want that.

Fantastic Job bud.;)
I like how you darken the pipes on the powerclean filters. It give's me some more idea's of my own with my own body.

Now we need some outdoor pictures in the snow.:)

Bullhead

wow looks really sharp! I like the metal foil trick may have to try that on a future project. I have always painfully painted those areas. The lights look good too! did you make light buckets or just glue the lights into the body?

Thanks guys.

The foil is much easier to work with than trying to paint the fine details. For the rear lights I used some of the extra small light buckets from my Axial kits. Drilled out the body and mounted them. Will try to get better code up shots.

Some close ups of the lights I added. Sadly it also shows how dusty it has gotten already.

Rear brake lights.

Rear lights.

Front parking lights.

Air cleaner hose and breather. I scraped the chrome off where the air wold enter but not sure what colour it should really be.

Looks good to me!! I've been thinking of doing the same thing with my own. But I would slide shrink sleeve over it instead of scraping.

Came to a couple of conclusions over the weekend. First is the back end of the Bullhead is pretty stubby and when I set a piece of metal in place to replicate a tow boom on the back it did not look right. Going to have another look but I think my idea of a Bullhead Wrecker may not work. Also discovered that the Bullhead bumper sits closer and slightly lower to the chassis which means I cannot set my servo for the plow blade on the front of the chassis as planned. Unless I remove the bumper. So I now have to debate what to do. The blade was not going to be a permanent fixture on the Bullhead so not sure if it is worth trying to make it work or just leave it. I suppose I could mount a winch up front and use that to raise and lower the blade instead of the servo. Lots of things to think about.

Mounted a winch behind the cab. Little shelf looks like it was made for a winch. :) Going to try the whole tow truck idea again.

very sharp the outside shots look great! where did you get the oval lights for the rear and the front turn signal lights? they look great. Now all you need is some clearance lights on top.
