If you are running brushed motors, you can use Traxxas XL-5 or XL-10. They are more than enough for the King.

Glad I could help:tmb I would have helped a lot sooner, but I work. And the computer caught a virus. And I work. Try and remember that everyone here does not own a WK, and this is only a hobby so time is limited. We cannot stop by as much as we'd like.

I would like to add, though, that William G is absolutely right.

I have a waterproof (blue) XL-5 in my WK. It's hooked up to a Great Planes S-600 19t motor. It was kinda glitchy last time I ran it and getting it to go in reverse was tricky, but I think it's just some interference and I have to relocate some wires. It could also be my receiver, I'm not sure.

I usually have it on 6 cells but I've put an 8cell pack on it (which is the max for the esc).
Once I put a 2s 4500 lipo on it just to see, but I didn't run it for long or very hard.

A Mamba Max would cover any motor and pretty much any battery you could put in a WK.
I've heard they're somewhat waterproof or resistant. I'm sure some splashing would be okay, but I still wouldn't want to put that much money under water.

...Will G is a smart dude and is always very helpful.

Stick with a decent brand name and you'll be fine. Dynamite products (in my experience with them) are junk.

I guess it depends on what you think a decent price is. Under $50? Under $30? Also, you didn't bother listing what turn your motor is. That is half the battle when selecting an ESC.

I run a Novak XRS in my WK. It's good for motors down to 15 turns and priced around $50.
