The bevy duty r2 trans is stronger. A bury ran one in his puller with no problems until the motor slipped and chewed up the top gear.

What rims are you plannig to go with ? If you plan on using stock Clod rims you'll need wheel widener/spacers.

I have wideners on it already...im using stock clod tires and wheels..

I will either do the leopard BL system or the Axial Brushed setup

That body looks nice! Thats what I will be going for look wise, except the bed will be cut out...

So I went ahead and ordered the Toro Leopard system and all the scale accessories..Most of the stuff should be in today and I can start installing everything...All thats left after that is to pick up 2 CPE servos and do the steering linkage. New pics coming this week!


Also, where can I get the aluminum diamond plating for the floor? Ive seen Budhatrian and Reggie and a few others use it on their tubers..

Got mine from RC4WD (it was on sale cheaper than RPP) ... and I was getting in bunch of stuff from them anyway. But it's out of stock their now.

Can't wait to see the updates !!!

Yeah you can wait until there in stock RC4WD and get them cheaper. Or if you dont wanna wait they have them at RPPHobby.

Toro Leopard system came in yesterday! Just under 2 weeks and $65 free shipping, Cant beat that! And its orange so it matches the truck lol...All of the scale accessories came in the end of last week too..steering wheel, seat, fire extinguisher, gauges...etc. Placed an order yesterday for the Diamond plate sheets for the floor as well. Im FINALLY sending out the shocks to be powdercoated too lol..been dragging my feet with the projects lately so this weekend im gonna try to catch up.. After I get everthing installed I can send this out to Terry Plum to do the body....

*BONUS*....I ordered a set of Junfac Carbon steel driveshafts for another project and they sent me 2 SETS!!! so I checked to see if they would work on the Blackwells and R2 trans and it fits so I have driveshafts now lol.


**DOUBLE BONUS**....you guys have been soooooo nice to me that Ill show another pic lol

My Toro/leopard system came in yesterday as well but mine took just under 3 weeks. I guess luck goes to the lucky first you win the Tekno buggy then you get your stuff quickly and to put the cherry on top you get a bonus set of drive shafts....... SMH!!!! :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes LOL Looking really good so far if only getting partial pics :) :) :)

Yea I have been a little lucky lately lol...I went thru such a bad streak this makes up for it lol.. which Toro system did you get? I got the 3300kv system.

I picked up the 3930kv setup, i wanted to be a little calmer than the twin CC Neu-4600kv motors I have in the Zilla2

yea me too, this truck wont be driven much so I didnt need a fast setup. I also switched out the wideners for a set that was a tiny bit wider for steering clearance...In the pic above you can see how Boyer setup the steering servo, there is one in the rear too. I might try to make my own steering links this time around
