Snake king

Another wheely king iv been working on
Finally got the body i wanted to use and its on its way via usps

Anyhow
First thing i did was throw some crawl king mounts on the axles
Which brought the wheelbase out to 11" which is prefect for the body.
I had to cut a section out of the rear cross brace that goes on the links.
Its also now under the links instead of on top like stock form
I then took some traxxas tmaxx driveshafts and yokes and cut them down to work with the wheelbase. I had used slash shafts on my last wk.
With the shafts cut down i decided to drop a 15t firebolt in.
This made the truck very quick, wheelys when ever you wanted!
With that done stock shocks were just too tall.
I used 120mm hot racing dual rate shocks on my last wk but that wouldnt help with height since theyre also 120mm.
And they dont work very well.
So instead i used some hot racing 100mm shocks and they work great for this truck.
I used some treaded rode to extend the lower steering link and the ball ends that came with the crawl king mounts to extend the upper y links. I used traxxas arm screws to make that work

Im still wanting on bodies tires and rims this week
Im also fighting the gear mesh. Seems my spur is making a bit of noise
Iv pulled apart the tranny a few times and now my steering is horrible. Im gonna ditch the servo saver and run an alum horn. Hoping i can turn again

Well my wheels showed up today!
After a bunch of emails back and forth with DE racing i ended up ordering a set of Borrego 2.2 rims in yellow.
They have just a hair more offset than stock. I did have to shave the hexs because of the nub that stuck.
Right now i have wheely king tires on them but not sure if they will stay.

So bodies showed up.
Vintage bodies haha

I dedicated this truck to snake bite, next year is the 25th anniversary of the truck.
Iv always been a fan of the truck myself, i dropped some coin on these bodies but its worth it. I switched to my fs racing tires since the wk ones were spinning on the rim. I havent glued them. Still deciding on which tire i want
The
body i mounted was a parma pre painted body. I trimmed it out to look the way i wanted and used goop to glue the fangs on,
The decals show their age, didnt really stick very well.
Im looking into getting new ones made, for myself.
I also got an unopened clear body.
