Shoo Goo vs CA/tire glue

This question is on the removal side. I know with tire glue/CA you can bake, boil, and acetone but how do you get tires off that have been shoo goo?

I need to glue up my TXT tires and was thinking of using shoo goo if it's easy to remove and get off the tires/rims because I may add some foam to them if I don't like how they preform.

Thanks...

pull push and once they start they peel off. 10x easier and unless you are real super careless you won't rip a tire it'll be like new

I pulled the tires off that Will did on his GP and Shoo Goo was great. Took a little bit of work, but no tires tore, and it was real easy to get the left over gunk off. Plus none of the chrome pulled off the wheels either.

Shoo-Goo/Goop is especially nice on aluminum rims. You can peel it off, and it's like it was never there. You can't do that with Krazy/Super Glue.

I know this thread is a little old but I was wondering - th67ss - if you ended up using shoo goo to glue your tires and if so how did it work out? I need to glue some as well and am thinking of going this route...

Definitely use the Shoo-Goo. That is how I've mounted all my tires (aside from touring car) and it works great.

What I do is put the tire on the rim so the beads are on the inside of the beadlock area (bead area is exposed on the rim). Take a small flat blade screwdriver and put a "dab" of shoo-goo on 4-5 spots around the bead area on both sides. Lift up on the tire and get it on the bead area, then grab the tire and spin the rim a 1/4 of a turn to spread the shoo-goo around. Let it dry and use your finger to "roll" up any shoo-goo that is on the outside of the tire.

Removal is easy with this method. If you use too much removal can be a bear.

brushless power may need a lot of shoe goo to be on though...i got a used set of tires that were mounted with a little shoe goo, and my clod broke the beads off of them in the first few minutes of running...

So far they have been holding up great with my little 3500kv motor. I shaved my front tires before the heat set in here in southern IL and it looks like the tires will peel off so I can add foam like others have said:tmb

Ok another question would be what is the name of the stuff like shoo goo that you can get at Home Depot or Lowes?

Another key is to make sure your ShoeGoo or Goop is fresh. If its been sitting around for a while and its kind of chunky it wont work.
