Help: Shock springs

I recently purchased a set of shocks of an unknown brand used. They are way to stiff and I need some softer springs but without knowing what brand they are it's hard too narrow them down. The springs are approximately 2.5" in length and 20mm or. 75" in diameter. If anyone knows of a brand and model of spring that will fi fit those dimensions I would appreciate the info. Thanks to anybody that can help.

Using my digital calipers the Losi standard bore springs have a .585" ID, and the TLR Big Bore springs have an ID of .620"

Well I just went out and pulled a spring off to measure and I have an ID of. 62" so it looks like I need the big bore springs. Now to find them. The losi site returned no searches for tlr big bore. So many springs, so confusing and no dimensions listed, getting frustrated. Thanks for helping me narrow it down a little.

They will be on A Main's site or on the TLR site - not on Losi's site. TLR is the racing division of Losi but is treated almost like a separate company.

You will want the rear springs. Like these:

Other options are listed below that.

Check here for rate listings and color codes:

I ran Losi red or pink springs on a Clod with 30 or 40 wt silicone oil, it handled like a race truck with this set-up. Just awesome.

The reds on the back are better than the silvers(which I think are the stiffest available) but I still want too go softer. Not sure what kind of oil was in them when I got them but was thick stuff, like glue in my cold garage. I put in some lighter oil and that helped but the springs still push the truck all the way up and I want it too droop a little at rest instead of being all the way art the end of its travel. I just don't think it's right being completely extended like that.

No problem on the help!

Not sure what kind of time frame you are looking at, but if you want you can ship me the springs and I can test them for their rate and give you an idea of where you are at right now. All I would ask is that you cover shipping. You can probably just drop them in an envelope and put a stamp on it. I'm in Michigan too so it shouldn't take to long to ship and ship back.

Just hit me up with a PM if you are interested.

Just keep in mind that those "reds" might not line up with Losi "reds" in terms of rate. Not sure what kind/brand of springs you have right now so without testing them there is no way of knowing their rate for sure.

True, after looking at the pics of available springs I see that they are all the same color with just a colored mark on the end of the spring so the ones I have are a mystery. All I know is they're way stiffer than anything I have on any of my rigs. So for ten bucks a set I think I'll just order four different rates, two close to each other in the middle of the available range, and two close to each other on the soft side.

just get a set of Losi reds and Losi Pinks, run the same four all around, I used the pink pistons - I have had MANY Clods and race trucks and this set-up is perfect for a fast basher. Yes, it should squat down a bit at rest. Keep us posted.
