Thanks!

Im considering a wheel and tire change. Perhaps Jumbo Kongs? Maybe a more scale look with some 4.0's from RC4WD?

Speaking of RC4WD... I ordered up a set of their drive shafts, and they arrived in the mail today! Very quick shipping!

These things are AMAZING! So heavy and stout! They give the extra length needed for this chasis that I didnt get from my MIP CVD's.

I think these are works of art!

...I picked up a set of IMEX Jumbo Maxx tires... they are a quite a bit wider than the stock Clod tires...

Thanks everyone!

Here is that comparison photo: IMEX Jumbo Maxx on the Right, Stock Clodbuster on the Left.

Yeah! Hard to believe, but Ive never had an axle issue yet! Ive considered Alloy Axles, but then nothing would be left of the original AX-10 but the body!

The only 'issue' I have, is that the wheel spacers, I think; are a weak link. Id love to find the correct offset rim so I wouldnt have to run them.

As Ive said, I am considering other wheel and tire options. Like RC4WD 4.0's on Beadlocks for a more scale look. Id follow up with a scale look body too.

WOW your truck is nuts. I think you've reached your goal to build one massive truck. As always you gotta have your :bling. Keep up the great work.

Thanks!

It continues to GROW!

I now have a body that I think, fits the scale...

I picked up a new HPI Savage XL body.

Question now is... Do I move up to IMEX Jumbo Kongs?

I think Id have to switch to Brushless power! Although my FXR - 15t - 3c Lipo are still doing a great job!

BOOO-YEAAA now that truck looks friggin sexxxxxxy haha. It's amazing how putting the right size lid on something really sets the truck off, guess you should've gotten blue links and accessories to go with the body eh?

Ha! Yeah! Blue links would be cool... I just cant bring myself to spend the $$$.

Although I have thought about powder coating all the alloy black for a more 'scale' look. I probably wont, as I like the 'bling'!

I know... I have a 'For Sale' thread up on this right now... But I was offered an amazing deal by a friend who works at the local hobby shop on a 'scale look' set of wheels and tires.

Cheap enough that I thought Id try them out, since I was considering going a more scale direction anyway.

I had to use 1 inch 17mm adaptors.

Compared to the IMEX Jumbo Maxx set up:

These photos show a mock up, adaptors not installed yet:

It likes to tip a bit when I drove it around the back yard with this set up, although it does take on a more scale look. Maybe I'll put a slow motor in it and go crawling?

So I cant go long with out messing around with stuff...

I decided last night that it would be cool to have a 'MONSTER WRC' Car!

As in, World Rally Championship.

I measured up a body from a Kyosho Inferno GT2 and realised that with the right wheel set, and a lot of reconfiguring, I could turn my Scorpion King project Monster Truck into a killer, big scale WRC! AND have some amazing off road ability too. More so even, than the Kyosho DRX WRC.

So I started the 'adjustment' process last night. Shortened up the shocks, changed out springs and fluid, changed suspension geometry, and this is what I came up with.

My plans are to mount the body as low as possible over the Hot Racing AX-10 chasis. So yes, its going to be top heavy. But should look like a 'normal' Rally car once the body is fitted.

Here is the Kyosho Inferno GT2 body I want to run, and have it sit about the same 'over' my current chasis. Although the 'same' fitment over taller off road and hopefully scale tires. Measurements make it a perfect fit, but these bodies aint cheap!

I love this Kyosho DRX body, but its wheelbase is a few inches shorter.

Ive never seen this sort of transformation before, so Im open to any and all ideas!

I don't know how low you'll be able to mount the body with those shock mount hoops. You might think about shorter shocks from a sedan and remove the hoops. Then you can cut and shorten the links for the wheelbase you want.

I was thinking about the upper shock mount hoops too. The back one might work, probably not the front.

I thought about laying down the shocks to a more horizontal fitment. To do away with the upper shock mount hoops.

Anything to keep me investing in another set of shocks! :)

Then I'll have to figure out how to mount the body.
