Thanks!
Well... It may be the way it looks in photos... In person, its almost comical how much it looks like a 'real' Monster Truck. Almost a scale build, without the fake engine and tube chasis.
The earlier wheel and tire set up I had on it didnt quite have the Monster Truck look right... I think because the Mashers are 'too thin' looking to give it a touch of realism.
I put those on my Clodzilla and it was immediately faster! Since the Clod wheel and tire set up was just sitting there, it was crying out to be tried on the Axial. I had the correct adaptors, so on it went! It was love at first sight! I remember laughing out loud once I stood back and really looked at it.
Here is the WEIRD thing... No, not me laughing at my RC truck... but it instantly climbed way way way better with the Clod tires! Now I know Mashers are not a climbing tire, but since I discovered that AX-10's dont take a hard bashing session very well... and decided to go the crawler route with it, the Clod tires were massively better. They really claw the rocks and wood pile, and conform nicely to whatever they are conquering!
Now with the 55t Integy motor, and the 20t gear back in... its still reasonably quick enough to get from crawl spot A to crawl spot B in the back yard, and crawls with a lot more torque!
I am pleased with it. Although I know full well it will never excel at crawling like some other purpose built rigs. And Im fine with that. Im enjoying turning it into a polished brick of alloy... A shelf queen that actually has some climbing ability!
Its been a real fun project! Especially as I started out as a complete newbie to this hobby Christmas 2008 with a New Bright Land Rover!!!
