Now I know the trucks are completely different, but basicly I want to know what I can do to make my Sav21 electric. What trans would I need? can I used and actual Esav trans in it? I love my savage but hate the nitro. (prolly cause I suck at tuning)

Thats a cool idea .... some big ol brushless in there. I have someone that I have been wanting to steer to this site that could really help us in the Hpi section. Watch for something here I hope this works out.

As a "cheap" alternative, just grab a E-Maxx of E-Savage gearbox, with some home made engine mounts, you're away... and battery mounts, too.

New Era do an intense brushless conversion, motor is big as a beer can sort of deal, check them out too!.

Well I thought of an Emaxx, but I'd rather stay HPI so I was thinkin Esav.

I'll definitly look into that new era, though it's prolly way more than I wanna spend Lol

well the only thing that concerns me is mating the trans with the drive line. I've got enough tools and skills to make the trans bolt up, or fab adapters to bolt up. So mainly I just need to know how the driveline is set up on an Esav (shafts, dogbones, cvds, etc) and if they fit easily with the nitro stuffs. I'd much rather keep the TVPs from the nitro cause I like the look and don't want to shell out the $$$ for something else, I'm cheep :rof

Um. sorry, no link. I saw it reviewed in RCCA back late last year/early this one.

There's a complete set, also makes your Sav basically 1/6th.

Only the very early maxx trucks had 5mm yokes, they are all 6mm now. You could probably use pede/rustler yokes though, they're 5mm, even the steel yokes crawlers use.

Ok so here is the thread I was hoping for!

Found a cheap Nitro Savage yesterday that Id like to convert, but reading this thread, it looks fairly involved?

I am new to the hobby (Christmas), so even though I read everything I can, my knowledge is still fairly limited.

Check the thread below this one or my thread a few more down on the conversion process, can be fairly involved dependong on how you go and of coarse the cost of it, biggest cost if the mamba system and lipos.
