Rust

Was wondering what everybody uses to remove rust from screws, links and other small parts. I've got a bunch of screws and linkages with some rust on them as well as some dogbones. I know I can sand them down and apply a little oil to prevent any further rust. But I was wondering if anybody uses any of the chemical products out there and what their resutls were.

I have used with success a rock tumbler with pre-polish or polish. Then I re-painted the screws with a rustolium (sp?) paint.

you can soak stuff overnight in coca-cola then hit with a sos pad and apply oil when done. That's what I've used since I have it right in my kitchen. :laugh

I replace them with something better in the case of both my real car and r/c cars (though my r/c stuff doesn't get rust due to my idiotic maintenance schedule)

I have this awesome can of "PB Blaster" rust-cutter, stuff works awesome. I've used on my car NUMEROUS times, I had trouble taking off one of my winter tire wheels becuz the rim had welded itself to the brake hub on my car. Kept blasting it and let it sit for like an hour or so. Came back and the wheel came right off first kick. I got it for like 5 bucks at Autozone
