I spoke to the Hotel Saturday and Lori tells me that they have a bus tour coming in that weekend. These will be all seniors and will be getting first floor rooms. I would advise that you get your reservations made ASAP. Call 800-851-8300.

I thought NR/CPTA had priority at the hotel for that weekend. Isn't that one of the reasons we kept the events at that location. I know the last World I asked and we had just about every room filled. I just called the hotel to verify our reservation. The lady also told me that most rooms with two double beds on the ground floor would be going to the bus tour.

I agree that this has started to get a little annoying with the bus tours. Laura and I spent a few weeks looking for other venues to hold our events. We wanted to try and keep them in a central location to our members so travel will stay close to the same. We did have some success in finding places big enough for our event. However, they were either way out of our price range, weren't in a hotel, or didn't seem to be willing to hold us. All three of these are important to our group as a whole, but unlikely to be found in one venue again. I always try to keep looking for new venues and encourage everyone else to as well. We also have to remember that the current hotel does store some of our equipment and give us a very good rate for the atriums. If you know of a place that is worth looking into get with Matt and see what he thinks.

I don't think anything about the Ramada is annoying. We kinda like it there.

There is one thing about the hotel that bugs me....all those damn kids running around (I know that really isn't the hotels problem but I thought I'd throw it out there), I want to know where all their parents are? Why are these kids running around at 1am? And I think everyone remembers what happend at the Spring race when some kids thought it would be a good idea to play foot ball and the next thing we knew the timing system was knocked over....that really wasn't something I wanted to hear at 1am and have to go back out to see if I could fix the thing.

So I ask this of all the parents: Please please please keep an eye on your kids, I really don't want to have to yell at them and in turn tick you off.

The only control we have is the rooms on the contract. The rest of the hotel is free range. It would be diferent if we filled the hotel but we dont. Until then we have to put up with the non member gray hairs. Cant fault the hotel for making all that they can. They are very good to us for what we pay.

I found one hotel that has a 15,000 square foot ball room. It was centrally located and looked very nice. The sales person was excited until I found out that it would cost $10,000 for Saturday only.

You got it Matt. There are a whole bunch of places like that, but we are just not in a position to make that kind of move nor will we probably ever. It would be a hard decision to leave the hotel if we found another place, but we might have to some day. So the search continues.

Half the time the bus tour cancels out..........the way to combat this is get the reservations in early .........book the rooms ....I have a problem with seniors getting ground floor rooms especially when they have elevators if they had no elevators well then they would be more welcome to these rooms but they are not going up any steps (what's the problem?)

I thought about that as well Joe. Maybe we should challenge the bus tour to a NO HOLDS BARRED ATRIUM MATCH!!!! Winner takes all.

And after a month of collecting dust waiting for the marshel to right my truck, I was on my way to winner's circle.


What's so bad about bus tours, they have every right to be there.

i dont think thats really that valid of a point. i think they would have the common sense not to walk across a track thats being used to make it to an eleavtor. they may be old but theyre not stupid (i dont think they are at least :roll )


the main point being discussed here seems to be the fact that we come down the same time every year and they know we have a some what large group comming carting along lots of stuff, so to give prefference to another group seems kind of lame. oh well i made my reservations on the first floor so i got nothing to complain about.


as long as none of them offer me candy or call me sonny i think we can all be cool, right?

On their website it says that they welcome bus tours, so whats wrong w/ a bus tour comming? A bus can carry what, 50-80 people, figure 2 full buses at most=100-160 people, 2 people per room=50-80 rooms taken, not that bad. So it's not as much the hotel allowing bus tours that's lame, but our complaining that's really the lame part.

What does it matter? They're 39 days away and most everybody should have their reservations by now. Plus, a bus tour means more people will know about us.
