Whew, what a day! Not only was this our frst mid-season championship but it also marks the near one year anniversary since we had our first race (July 20, 2009).
Absolutely a GREAT day! Just laughing my butt off at all the jokes, eating delicious food, enjoying a few cold ones,...........and oh yeah RACING!
Once again we were able to welcome our Big Island brother Jerome (Hermit), who made the flight over so he could race with us. He even got a decisive heat victory in Outlaw. And when you add in the fact that he had to make a "blind" setup because he didn't get to race with us all season it is even more impressive. :tmb
We started a little late so we only ran two heats and then did a race off between heat winners for the overall class winner. We even had the freestyle event when the sun was setting but we did manage to get it all in.
The Track:
Jimmy(king of kings) bought out the light tree and timing system for this one. The layout was simple and a little long. Start off on the wood pad(so the sensors would work) and on green head inbetwwen the spools towards the first big jump.
Shoot it all the way down the "J" shaped lane and do a 180* turn outwards around the tires at the far end. Jump the big ramps and gun back towards the start and do a 180* inwards keeping both the spools on you inside. Head towards the crush cars finish, the sensors were on the wood base.
