I had an airtronics m11 and had 4ws setup but it was clunky to setup and use. My hacked GT3B can do 4ws as well once setup its not as clunky as the m11 was and has crabwalk or normal 4ws selections. I am sure there are other 3 channel radios that can do it as well.
I was planning on using my gt3b radio but don't know how to set up the steering options. friend of mine did a hack to his to get 8 channels but not sure how to set steering to work like stock radio.
After the hack It is not hard, the hack manual isn't exactly the easiest thing to read but it isn't horrible either. There is also a huge topic on rccrawler that losikid answers questions. If your friend has the board you can just soldier a servo exention to your board (you only need the 3 wires) or buy pins and use it like the hack kit comes with.
