Needing some help/information from some people that race, during the summer my local hobby shop has parking lot races once a month. I have talked them into letting a few of us guy with clods race our trucks.

So I have to make a couple ramps and was wondering what others are using and how big they are? If anyone could help me out with some measurements I would really appreciate it.

Michigan Monsters ramps are the following:

30"-32" inches wide

4 or 6" high

16" face length (surface your truck runs over)

Thought behind the ramps was to allow higher speeds and still give you a nice height / distance without being overboard on parts breakage. We just introduced the 6" ramps this past weekend. They do "pop" the truck up a little more.

Our 4" ramps are made from sheetmetal with vinyl wraps on them. Our 6" ramps are made from 1/2" MDF with carpet covering.

One thing to try and keep in mind is to try and have a smooth transition between the ground and the ramp.

do a search on 1080 ramps...lightweight, stackable, and durable...the dimensions are larger, but we ran our races outdoors...

we used to use these:

here is a different version as well, same name, but if you look closely, the transition is more straight, and doesnt have a nice curve like the first pic...i prefer the first version, as the curvature makes the transition smoother, and the trucks dont upset the suspension as easily...

one nice thing is that for the forst version, you can situate the ramp so one is on top, facing the opposite way, and it makes a ramp leading up to a "wall"...this makes for a perfect prop to get the truck to do backflips, if you have a freestyle competition afterwards...
