So couple questions...

Are you running a brushless truck yet?
If so what?
More than 1, how many?
Was it a nitro you converted?

Last question, Are you running Lipo batteries and if YES what type, what brand, and # cells/volts.

Yes, 2 trucks a slash with VXL and 2s lipo (currently for salke on e-pay)

A Associated SC8 converted from nitro with a mamba ESC, 36-60-2048KV Fiegae motor and 2, 2s 30c 4500mah lipos for 14.8 volts.

I run brushless in my RC18. I'm running a Mamba 5400kv on Hyperion Litestorm 20c 2s 1800mah packs. I will be running a MM system on 3s lipo in my Pede/Slash project, as soon as I get it finished up,:tmb but for now it is just running on 6 or 7 cell nimh batts, and an Orion SV2 15x2 motor.

I've got a Mamba 25 with a CM-2080 in my Mini Slider. Everything else is brushed and I have no Lipos yet.

I've got an old Novak SS5800 combo (one of the first commercial units) in my converted Rustler.
And I've converted a Hyper ST truggy (Hobao, nitro) to brushless, with the same motor as William, a Robbe 900 series ESC, and 2 Zippy 4S 4800mah packs.

my first bl truck was my vxl stampede. shortly after i got a sphere for my t4, and i run a reedy neo bl motor in it for racing. i also have a sphere spx in my kyosho lazer zx-5 which i also run the reedy motor in when i race it.

as far as lipo, i run a orion 3200 carbon edition 2 cell and a trinity ip3800 2 cell whenever possible. more lipos are to come shortly.

For research?

Slash-mamba max esc/7700 motor, hyperion litestorm 20c 2s 5000mah lipos or hyperion litestorm cx 16c 2s 5350mah lipos.

Clod- 2 mamba max esc's/4600 motors, same lipos used as above.

Savage XL conversion- monster mamba esc/2200 motor, true r/c 5000mah 4s 20c lipo or I use 2 of the above lipos.

Tamtech hotshot- mamba 25/ hyperion 6000 motor, maxamps 2100mah 2s lipo.

Tamtech Wildboar- mamba 25/ hyperion 6000 motor, Hyperion Litestorm 20c 2s 1800mah.

VXL Rustler- all stock except for a gearing change here and there for track/tires

Clod-o-pede- VXL system

Slash-VXL and on special occations i use a helicell 11.1v 4000mah LiPo

Caster Fusion- Novak HV-Maxx 6.5 with dual 4600mah NiMH

Axial Scorpion- Brushed still, but running 7.4V 1250mAh Venom LiPo

Lipos: Trinity Reference 4500 2S, Elite 4800 2S 25c

- Rustler: VXL, mostly runs lipo, now n then 6cell flat or stick packs.

- Slash: VXL, mostly runs 8 cell 4500mah nimh, but also the lipos I have. I think the 8cell has more speed but not as much punch.

- E-Maxx 3906: Medusa 36-60 2000kv motor, Mamba Monster ESC, geared 15/66, dual packs using series adapter.

I'm thinking about picking up a used Mamba Max (7700?) from a member on another forum. Not sure what I'll put it in tho.

Everything is set up for racing. Any Lipo listed is a 2S-40C 5000mah Thunder Power Lipo pack.

Rustler - Mamba Max 4600 (6-cell NIMH)
2WD Clod-o-Pede - Mamba Max 4600 (6-cell NIMH)
Twin Force - Mamba Max 7700 (7-cell NIMH / Lipo)
Twin Force - Novak HV Maxx 6.5 (7-cell NIMH)
TXT-1 - Mamba Monster 7700 (6-cell NIMH / Lipo)
Clod - Sidewinder 5700 (X2) (7-cell NIMH / Lipo)
Clod - Sidewinder 5700 (X2) (Lipo)

I hope to be totally converted to BL ASAP for all my race trucks for trucks that qualify for them. Lipo is also high on my priority list. I just ran Lipo for the first time at the WMB7 race and I am a true believer now. The sooner NIMH is out of my vocabulary, the better. Lipo is the way to go.

I have been playing with brushless since Novak introduced the 5800SS. Since then I have ran a few more Novaks, Mamab 5700, and 4600, a VXL esc with a CC 5700 motor (best set up as far as I am concerned) and I currently have a old school Rustler with full vxl tranny and bearings powered by a Sidewinder 4600. All of the Mamba's were ran on maxamps 2s and 3s 4000's and charged with a hyperion charger.........I love brushless!

All of the above set ups were in a Stampede, Rustler, T4, and xxx-t

This is great, seems more than a few have both.

I was wondering how many were running the newer electronics, and lipo batteries.

Keep it comming...

First time I ever tried a bl system and lipo that was it for me lol. Just isnt a comparison in my view, my first system was when the mlst came out and I upgraded. Hoping once I get my savage conversion finished and it eating up all my funds that I can get another mamba system for my new tc3 I have sitting here. It does have a 8t orion revolution motor in it and run the 5000mah lipos in it and just watch the runtimes, it scoots very nicely but a 7700 bl would be awesome :tmb

3 trucks for me!

1. BL pede with sidewinder 5700 combo with BEC and 2S 6500mah max amps battery (still trying to figure out how to charge the damn battery)

2. caster racing fusion with mamba max w/ BEC and medusa motor. running 2 2S 4800mah elite lipo packs.

3. VXL rustler. i run NIMH packs but every now and then ill run the 2S 4800mah pack in it.

Thanks all for me. I love going fast! :willy

I started crawling with a outrunner brushless and Lipo 3 years ago the problem for crawling was the outrunners had a cogging type start up and weren't smooth enough.

2 years ago I went with a sensored motor in my rig and it was amazing the difference in motor control day and night.

However I have now gone back to brushed motors and Lipo for even better motor control now that's a full circle.
