I just got a new to me Clod over the weekend. Its a full CPE Teminator CF chassis, Integy rear tubes, knuckles and gears, front is stock tubes, knuckes and gears. Setup currently running a Novak Super Duty XR ESC, twin HPI Firebolts and a 3s 40C 5500mah battery. Its pretty darn quick and fun but damn does the rear motor get smoking hot after 10 mins of hard running (yes its just something I goof around with, not racing as there is none in my area
) Its on 13t pinions (rear is using the stock spur and not the metal Integy one). So my question is, is it normal for the Firebolts on 3s to get that hot ? The ESC is cold to the touch.
Now the second part....I would love to go brushless and was looking at the CC SV2 setup with 5700kv motors, probably run on 2- 2s 5000mah 40C packs. Can I leave the chassis and what not the same and just run the brushless or should I upgrade the front tubes, knuckles etc... at the same time? Also will I be happy with 5700kv's on 2s vs the Firebolts on 3s ? Any help is always apriciated.
