First of all, apologies for the absence of updates, life got in the way for a couple of weeks...

As for the truck, I have not changed a lot yet. Finally got to work on it this week, made a temporary steering draglink, put in an rx, esc, and a 2S LiPo. I was completely blow away by the speed it had, considering the low kv motor! It's an awesome machine to drive, steers sharp and looks very cool with the big tires.
Today I wanted to try getting a vid of it running, but due to the heavy snowfall, it was impossible to run the truck. I did get a couple of pictures though, with the body I normally run on my Clod. This is look I'll be shooting for, when I get a new body and some body posts. However, the body will obviously get lowered a bit.

Tom those ofna posts don't work for you?
I had used them before and liked them. I left those long so you could fit to a body. They are very rugged, one of the reasons I had liked them.

Truck looks good w/ that body on it.
oh, motor is 2600kv I think, you can check my ''build'' thread in here. (readers rides area)

Thanks for the bump on the build thread.
Yeah, the body posts are great, I just noticed after looking at my own pictures they are adjustable.. :bang So I won't need new ones! Now only a body, and some odds and ends to mount the electronics neatly.
Motor seems great, runs cold, and gives plenty of oomph, a winner :tmb

Just a small request, when you put the body on, please don't have it sit on the chassis up in the stratosphere. I think it would look more proportionate if its closer to the wheels.

Tom,
I merged the 2 threads so that we don't have to link back and forth between the 2 threads to answer as many questions. :wnk

Thanks Will, better this way.
As stated, the orange body is just for mock-up, I'll order a new one this week. And it will get lowered a bit :tmb

I REEEEEEEEEALLY like this truck. I've always wanted to convert a Nitro A-1 to electric for years.
The motor mount was from a HPI vorza 1/8 buggy and uses 5mm screws. Pinion is a long 5mm shaft from Techno bought at Tower hobbies I grabbed a 15 and 17 tooth. 15 is on it. I don't think you can fit smaller without lots of grinding part clearences. I slotted 2 holes and after gear mesh was set I drilled the 3rd and 4th holes so there will not be any movement firmly locking the mesh.

Tom, me likey :4th
That was 2s running? If so I don't think it'll ever need more than 3s to get some tire burning runs. Oh, I take it you glued them on now right? Silicone will allow you to remove them if needed.

Thanks guys!
Yes, I was really surprised on how this thing runs on 2S. Plenty fast, and since I want to keep it in one piece, it will probably stay on 2S. I have not glued the tires yet, still need to paint the wheels. Thanks for the heads up on the silicone, will use that.
I would like to use the 17mm hubs that I have for these axles, but I haven't found the right rims yet. I like the look on these rims, with the deep offset, but they use the 19mm hubs, which come of pretty easily.
Any thoughts on similar looking 17mm wheels I can use with these tires?

OFNA monster pirate rims are as close as you'll get to usa-1 Nitro Crusher wheels & they use 17mm hex ... though no other non alloy rims looks as good to me as a new set of usa-1 nitro rims

nice video looks almost as fast as my kyosho dmt ve on 2s
